I miss those old band organs. The piped in music in modern carousels is not the same. Part of the magic was that as you go around and around the band organ, you hear the same effect you get from Leslie speakers. Cool.

I did consider going through the stumps. But they’re pine and rotting pretty fast. I didn’t want sap all over the track.

No offense, but I question the track against your shed, the car ran successfully. But is there enough clearance between the edge of the shed to the track and the train?

As I said to @Robothut, I had tested my rolling stock on that stretch of track before locking down the sections. One benefit of the Menards O-27 track is that the ties reach about a half-inch beyond the outside rails. That creates a useful buffer.

Back in the '90s, they had special concerts on the race track and the park was exclusively for the concert and use of the park. My friend and I got in the last car of the Monorail, and I noticed two girls get in another car. As the Monorail started rounding the last curve, I got out of the last car and climbed over into the next car. (I figured if I fell, I would land in the water below and have a good chance of surviving.) Oops! A guy and his girlfriend! So I did it one more time to get to the car with the two girls. They got quite a kick out of it! As we pulled into the station, I was greeted by security who said I was seen "STANDING UP OUT OF THE CAR"! They didn't know I was actually climbing from car to car! I apologized profusely and walked away and my friend and I went back to enjoy the concert on the race track! I also climbed up two of the water slide rides, (which were all closed for the night, but the water was running) and rode them anyway! I use to work there as a ride operator, so I knew the routine. Ahh, the '90s. Good times!

You have done a lot of work in the heat. So, I guess none of your rolling stock is wider than the trucks as that track seems really close to the building. We will see in the next update video.
@jayducharme

Before I began securing the track, I took some of my rolling stock and ran it through the tunnel to make sure it would clear. With the O-27 track, the rolling stock usually isn't wider than the ties.

Thank you for doing this video. I was born in Sandusky in 1967. My father was a full-time member of the management team at Cedar Point and my mother was a ride operator assigned to the Space Spiral when they met. Almost every day all summer long my sister and I would be let loose in the park while they worked. I'm guessing it was cheaper than babysitting, but it gave me great memories. Thank you for posting this video as I am very unlikely to return to the park anytime soon.

Thank you for this walk-through it brought back many memories as I took my children to this park when it was still park fun land and they presented a coke can for their interests. We rode the log ride at that time and I see they still have it but they have developed this into a beautiful park and now I’m excited to take my great grandchildren to this adventure as I live just north of Muskegon in Cadillac Michigan so again, thank you this was very interesting And look forward to the visit there.

This was a nice tour, and makes me want to go even more. But it certainly looks dead, your trolley ride made it look busier then this. Hopefully it's not always as dead as this.
