People forget how good Shearer was in his Prime
@rovers95853 күн бұрын
Absolutely. From my experience, there are a number of football fans today who were either too young to remember Shearer play for Rovers or who weren't even born when Shearer was doing the damage in a Rovers shirt. The Shearer we had at Blackburn was world class. He was still very good at Newcastle too, but he had to change his game there a touch due to injuries.

True, it really was a damaging result for Newcastle. I wanted you to win the league ahead of United as Rovers were poor that season and way off the top. Sadly, we ended up helping Fergie and United that evening.

@@rovers9585 mate because of wor al I have a soft spot for u's but even in the 2000s u's had a proper side tugay pederson samba santa cruz bentley emerton but aye we crumbled in 96 away from home u's can't play expansively and get points look when u's won it grinding out results i.e. everton away us at home just found a way to win and had the best striker in the world at the time and two of the most underrated wingers in wilcox and ripley real quality they had. @@user-bc9cc4tu6b Aye, we had some handy sides in the 2000's post Jack Walker's passing. Some fans of other clubs like to mention Jack to try and belittle Rovers today i.e "you bought it, the 90s have gone" etc, but they forget how decent we were in the 2000's right up until Venky's bought us in 2010. We had some serious players as you mentioned...Duff, Tugay, Cole, Bellamy for one season, Benni, Roque, it was superb. The true football fans and viewers, like yourself, remember and haven't forgot the real Blackburn Rovers, so thank you mate, that means a lot. Sadly, there are some Rovers fans who have forgotten all of that and who unfathomably try to defend Venky's. There's no defending the indefensible! It's astounding the damage Venky's have done to our fanbase. The last 14 years have been horrible as a Rovers fan mate. We are in this state today because of Venky's, no other reason. They are a disgrace and have near wrecked the club. We are a Premier League club and I believe we will be back when we have new owners. Hopefully we play you guys again soon, I have always enjoyed our games due to the Shearer connection plus the atmosphere when you guys pack out the entire Darwen End.
