The color module on these is absolute garbage. The main problem is magenta. Dunno what they've done with it, but it is very dark. And the red is very dark too.

Wondering if can you do crowd scanning with the Laser Engine Skylos moving head? With its massive beam or star Gobo scattered effect but pointed at the audience? That wouldn’t affect eyesight of the crowd right since this is a moving head light and not the traditional fixed box high powered lasers? 🤔

Hi, just like any other moving light, if you keep the safety distance, crowd scanning with Skylos is allowed (more info about distance on the official user manual). In addition you can set a safe operating area if required/needed. Don't forget that in the USA a variance is needed for operating Skylos fixture, or eventually opting for "Skylos NV" model, which doesn't require a variance at all. I know this is more of a teaser, but this is one of the first Clay Paky videos that I am left questioning what this product actually is. Too much tease, not enough substance. I anxiously await hearing more about what this is and what exactly you mean by modular.

@@djLovelyTime Well it stands in contrast to most of the videos on this channel that go far more in depth about what is unique about the product. These teasers aren't new, but them being this light on things is kind of new. Even the Xytlos and Skylos teasers gave you a lot more idea of what those fixtures were going to bring to the table.

I think Clay Paky has a number of exciting fixtures that go toe-to-toe with some Martin's best fixtures. Namely the Xytlos, Skylos, and Shar-Bar. Clay Paky has always brought a very punchy, yet accurate look with very high CRIs. They are also used in a lot of studio and theater use as well.

@@rapidrabbit11485 since martin launched the encore series I see their fixtures back in theatres, the aura and atomic dot are often used in tv productions, the new mac one is something very different and gives new looks. i just think they are back in the game - after the crashed with thrill line and bad strategy

@@user-gq9qh2kw6h I do like a lot of Robe products. I feel much more comfortable talking about Robe and Clay Paky in the same sentence vs. Martin. I do think they have two different looks though. Clay Paky really goes for high CRI and very accurate lighting and the cost of some punchiness. I also think Robe on fixtures like the MegaPointe really wins in just sheer functionality, it's crazy all the channels it has. Robe has nothing like the Xytlos or Skylos though. These are like completely different use cases though. This isn't PlayStation vs. Xbox here. It's all about what you are trying to accomplish and what tool gets you the look you need\want. Now, I also want to make clear, I'm not trying to diss Martin here or say they are crap. They are a serious competitor. I personally, do not feel they are as innovative in this space. I think Martin has their hands in a lot of other things, other than fixtures of this type and class.
