Thats brilliant. I was a stainless steel welder (mostly) and like the material. CB is relative new for me. My A99 is deaf. Compared to my 1st alu 1/2 wave antenna. So i Just got a 5/8 Sigma Vemom in. The cut ins at the joints seem like rain catechers to me. Yet i see no one sealing the sawed in gaps. But you sir have had this antenna for years up in the air. Did you not water proofed at the joints where the jubilee clips go?

In the video you said the fuse only 5amp!! That NOT correct since i have 3pct of this amlifier and they all have 12amp fuse.

It sounds to me the coax braid is acting as a counterpoise earth if things improve. In 49 years I've never felt any need to cut coax to a specific length and I get out with 5 Watts QRP maximum. 33 years QRP. Even 1 Watt c.w. and 350 mW c.w. G4GHB.

with this mod it keeps the filters but increases the modulation, when paired with the ft710 that has the eq's adjusted works phenomenally well.

hi, i have a palomar hd450, runs four sd1446. two are hot to touch also the output transformer and caps.. the other 2 transistors, transformer and caps are about half as hot. it does nearly 400w. with 20w in. . could i have 2 soft transistors... every thing else looks ok

Hi, It looks as if the jumper is JP1 on the schematic, and is at the input to the filters. It parallels an 8,2k resistor with one already in the input circuit thus halving the input resistance, and therefore presumably increasing the stage gain. Regards Dave

On same uhf band at 5 mhz You get a full 200 feet of coverage till de-sense of recievers. If You don't use a 4 c as vity duplexer. But if you had 1 vhf 1 uhf radio crossbanding back n forth it will repeat add external antenna it will work all over town . You can't use same band

I have just purchased a 503, I believe I damaged my 505v when I blew up a 30a psu, possibly over-driven it. The 503 I only plan 4w Fm 8w Ssb from a CRT SS9900, and hopefully I can get the 505v repaired. Appreciate the video 👍🇬🇧
