Commander is a great format for modern gamers who are too much of a loser crybabies to play actually competitive formats. As for the normal, competitive old school gamers I hope there's a better CCG than current MtG.

I think serialized cards are fair under a few circumstances. Firstly, I dislike the idea of serialized cards that lack unique features such as unique art, foil, or card features like extended art or perhaps a unique border. The only serialized cards they got "right" were the Phyrexian Praetors, because there were a limit of 500 of each variant that got an exclusive art. I even think The One Ring was a flaw because the only distinguished feature was the 001/001 stamp. Other than this issue, I think it's fair for WOTC to utilize serialized cards to keep the hype off collectors happy, but they should go about it in a more methodical way, rather than lazy way.

1. Abysmal quality of the product. Cardstock, Foil Quality, set quality, special release quality 2. Cost to play the game WAY UP. Less value for money. 3. Format management. Ban hammer weilded unpredictability and wiping out thousands of dollars of deck investment. Speeding up, slowing down standard, trying to "rotate modern," STILL not implementing Banned as Commander instead of total ban. Questionable unbannings. 4. LAZY storytelling and set design leading to an identity crisis. I get it, it's a "Children's card game," but at least try instead of Return to return to return to Ravnica/Zendikar/Innistrad and those sets being huge letdowns from a story arc. When that doesnt work, import various pop culture IPs. 5. Wizards absolutely gasliting and trashing their customers and making vets feel spat on and sold out. We are decades upon decades upon decades loyal. When we call out stuff like the above. Like we dont matter. Like we haven't invested heart, soul, time, and treasure. Not to mention the treatment game stores and judges get. I sold out of my collection yesterday after 15 years of loving this game. 3 decks left and a handful of sentimentals to remind of once was. I still love the core of the game, but mourn what was.

Yes, the classic "pander to people who will drop the game after a week and have your core audience be stuck with whatever the game has become". The people from outside say "Oh cool, the lord of ring is in mtg, i will buy card, wow i got the bülbo, nice." and after a week they say "Anyway, that was fun, back to my leågue of legénd game! Here i come Ahri my queen!" while commander players are stuck with the nuka cola and transformers. While i personally do like that lotr set, it's only because it fits in, marvel on the other hand...

The game is different now. Its not like in FAB where the cards are stunning and tell their own history. I got to say though the art of MH3 looks surprisingly classy on quite a few cards. I expected watered down dull art like in the other recent sets but honestly, as you said, the good old "hand drawn" style comes through quite a bit. Looks more like real art in contrast to amateur illusrations.

I jstarted playing pokemon a few months ago and I've been interested in this deck box for a while, but havent justified buying it. I just finished putting together a second deck and have now been seriously considering this deck box to hold both decks and my tokens/dice. I'm a Rudy Patron, he legit got sick for a couple weeks. He was hospitalized during that time. He sent a message to all of us Patrons, as a heads up about his absence. All current orders would be delayed. His Wife, also sent nice reminders on cancelled scheduled Rudy weekly sales, Friday Night and Sunday Sales. His Wife also kindly updated us on Rudy's condition as well. When Rudy is gone or isn't uploading, it's legitimate and he's not doing it to hide. Something that I have learned about Rudy, he's got nothing to hide.

Hi, thanks for video. Like every game, it takes practice. After playing Mtg for 30 years, my mates and I tried playing Sorcery on Alpha release and we never touched our mtg cards since then. The game is a ton fun once you get to know the cards a bit (same can be said for MTG) and while it is true that the different layers of interactions definitely create complex play situations, it is usually fairly fluid game. My 11 year old son and his mates attend local constructed tourney regularly and they manage to hold their own, so yeah, it is not that hard once you played a few games. Cards are beautiful too which is a bonus. My 2 cents. peace.

Really interesting takes and I agree with a lot of what you said. I found the game surprisingly easy to grasp coming from Magic, but there was definitely a lot of checking the rule book and weird interactions that we could not figure out. My main issue right now is the accessibility of the game, but I hope that will improve with coming sets.

Game is fun. Art is amazing. Print runs are small. Game is complex. We need more learn to play videos. Magic the Gathering took decades before releasing Arena, which is the first decent play through training video they released. Can the owners of Sorcery create a series of Learn to Play videos that are easy for 90% of people to understand, before casual players go back to playing Settlers of Catan? Don't say something is easy. Don't say it's simple. I would remove the word "easy" from my vocabulary when making a learn to play video. Every single choice in a competitive game is important. Pro level players think about whether to make a sub optimal play in order to throw off their opponent. There are at least 50 different ways to cheat that players have to watch out for. You are correct that the 3D aspect of Sorcery makes it difficult for even advanced players such as ourselves to evaluate a board state. I also like your idea that water should conduct lightning in the game, however, lightning usually dissipates within 10 feet of the surface, so a mermaid or fish who is deep underwater would not be hit by the lightning. A sea creature who has surfaced would be on the surface of the water and targetable by lightning from the surface, but if we are talking about submerged minions, let's assume that they are more than 10 feet under the surface of the water and safe from lightning. (not scuba safety advice, this is merely a discussion of game mechanics). Also, I agree with you that the gameplay can be improved a lot. I expect rules changes and updates to make gameplay simpler, more fast paced and more fun. Here's hoping the rules system can be improved to the level which will lure you back into playing Sorcery.

Was wondering If you plan on posting a video about the return of Core Sets in Paper Standard for Magic: The Gathering with "Foundations" that was recently announced at MagicCon Amsterdam this year. Unlike cards in regular Standard legal sets, cards printed and reprinted in "Foundations" are said to last within 5 years or in this case til 2029 before they rotate out. Confirmed reprints for "Foundations" include Llanowar Elves, Day of Judgment, and Omniscience.

Just want you to let you in on some stuff, I used to work stow (inventory guy who put stuff on the site) trading cards are a big ez thing to steal in Amazon, but we know it is not worth our job for trading cards, cameras in the stations for picking and stowing, secondly we are responsible to double check items as well, if a stower looks at an item and not worry about their stow rates it should had been corrected and you are correct someone is not paying attention or doing their job in your FC (Fulfillment Center) Majority of the items that come in should be corrected right away by problem solvers in the FCs who have access to computers and can fix barcodes and item names on the sites or flag anything to be corrected by people with higher permissions. It should not be customers who need to let Amazon know, it should had been stopped at the first line which is the stowers then Amazon can correct the vendor or punish the venders, not only do the people in Amazon work for Amazon they are also customers and should pay attention to stuff like this, it can be corrected as soon as the item comes in or as soon as we notice the issue, Amazon workers can change the item label and what scan stuff in, we can also flag false items so that it gets corrected by higher ups, it should never come to the customers before we find the issue.

Part of this problem is how MTG is viewed as a toy instead of the overt gambling for minors model where you need tight inventory control and chain of custody to ensure the product has not been tampered with. I just looked up to see what happened to Alpha Investments, but what I see in the Chat is a bunch of angry Timmies. I think, Like wizards of the coast, Rudy is making money hand over fist over the game everyone loves/hates and he did warn people about certain investment schemes early on or why this pull is worst than that pull. In the grand scheme of things people get upset over making a poor choice and having someone to blame. That's like buying a lottery ticket and getting made about not winning and when you are not winning you are losing and guess what losers do, blame someone else for their poor choices. So what are you commenters? Losers? I don't buy cases or boxes because the MSRP of cards is wild already with random reprints and the only thing that really holds value is the restriction list. Knowing that I buy singles, because I play the game and don't collect the game so maybe try to do that more instead or understand the idea of getting hosed. I don't get on hype trains, but I see sore losers who take a risk and blame someone else for it often enough.

I just live in the past now. The game I once loved is no more. I only play, buy, and collect cards from Rivals of Ixalan and before. After that Fire design started, power creep went off the rails, and cards became full text box of abilities. 😔
