I'm a huge animation enthusiast, but I have also been guilty of being a little skeptical about anime. At first I was introduced to it when my older brother showed me some Studio Ghibli films, and then he showed me the first couple episodes of Violet Evergarden. Now I'm just getting into anime, and there are certainly a lot of stuff on my list that I need to watch.

4:27 Eren freed Ymir. Mikasa didn't do anything. Ymir wasn't looking for love, she was looking for freedom, which is why she freed the pigs. Mikasa had forced relevancy. Eren NEVER loved Mikasa romantically at any point in the series. 13:02 Eren never loved Mikasa tho. Eren and Historia isn't about just simple romance. There's a deep, intertwined connection between Eren, Historia, Founder Ymir and Freckled Ymir, Mikasa is not involved. Eren and Mikasa have ZERO connection. Historia wouldn't be living for herself if she didn't side with Eren. She sided with Eren because Eren REMINDED her to LIVE FOR HERSELF and becoming an ENEMY OF HUMANITY. But her doing the Zeke plan would be her not living for herself. That man who Historia knew from childhood threw rocks at her so where's the "love" there? People like @Serenity break this down easily. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbedbMRqy9SwY3U.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lZukf9R3zbm7Z3k.html A personal gripe that I have is ppl always saying that the fan Eren is made to look edgy and cool. Eren sticking to his motivations and goals IS NOT edgy. It's called CONVICTIONS. It's a very nitpicking argument that I'm high key sick of hearing. All in all, AnR >> AOT OG ending. Forever and Always.

I'm more willing than most it seems to vouch for the 'Rhaenys in the Dragon Pit' as it adds context and incentive to an event later in the story than I won't spoil but you will know when you see it. #HeComes #Shepard Agree on them rushing Rhaenys's character though. I must admit I don't see that much deviation between book Cole and HotD Cole. The only difference is his motivation and grievances are far less obscure in the show.

Visery’s was an idiot. So many death could’ve been avoided if he didn’t do dumb things. He trusted anyone but his brother and put his daughter life on the line so often. Low-key a terrible King!🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

3 years later and MAPPA did make the finale even better! Eren and Armin's final conversation gets a major re-write for the better, without changing the entire ending to a Chad Eren power fantasy. Where he kills the world, kills Mikasa and Armin, bangs Historia and lives on with the guilt while only Eldians are left on the planet.

The moment Alicent gave birth to her 1st son, she vied for his place on the throne knowing Daneyra’s sons were not next in line by blood!

I still believe Otto was right that first born son Aegon II was a threat for the appointed heir princess Rhaenera. Alicent had no choice but to survive and strike back.

Ive come to the realization that they rushed through this first season far too quickly in a bid to get the audience to the Dragon Spectacle. I have alot of issues that couldve been resolved if they actually kept the entire first Season focused on the Younger cast member versions of Rhaenrya and Alicent, and then had season 2 introduce us to the Children that are now brought into this conflict. My main 2 issues come down to the writing watering down both Rhaenrya and Alicent's actions in this conflict with how 1. Them removing Rhaenrya from actually killing Laenor in order to marry Daemon removes a concrete line in the sand for the Greens to actually see her as not worthy of the Throne and removing alot of Criston Cole's POV into her more immature Nature and how she doesnt take her responsibilities or oaths seriously enough in his eyes and 2. Removing Alicent from being Aware of the Green Councils scheming to take the throne in the wake of Viserys's death. And i swear to god the biggest flaw no one talks about is the implementation of the White Walker Prophecy being tied to the Targeyeans. I cannot believe they brought that back after how badly we know it ends in Game of Thrones when it comes to the white walkers.

You underestimate the weight and ramifications of Rhenyra’s bastard children. Alicent could not marry her child to a bastard, it dishonored everything she knew to be right. Rhenyra killed her own claim when it became clear that an illegitimate child would be her successor. Further more, after the death of the king, Lords who were disgusted by this woman requiring they pledge fealty to her bastard successor, would use the king’s legitimate children as a standard to gather around and try to crown one of them. Every unpopular move would feed the appetite for rebellion. Alicent’s children would absolutely be in danger from Rhenyra and her supporters.

8:52 yet rhenyera wanted aemond tortured in episode 7 to learn how he learned about her sons being bastards(the analogy she used is used a lot in game of thrones books to say torture this guy a staple of Daenerys vocabulary when son of harpies start attacking her army with her going as far as having common folks tortured to learn who was attacking unsullied

In the books, it was Otto who proposed the marriage between rhenyera and aegon not rhenyera. But then again, show is going out of its way to make greens look bad so that’s not surprising that they would change this to be someone from team black proposing this

The biggest anime Studio that makes me Absolutely fall in love with animation and that is Kyoto Animation, the teams there make some of the most beautiful looking anime of all time like A Silent Voice, Violet Evergarden, and Clannad. These anime also have the most beautiful stories ever told in the animation medium, the characters, animation and story are all there in amazing form. recently Sousou no Frieren is the most recent example of what animation with amazing character writing and worldbuilding can be told in animation

At every stage of this video you undermine your initial premise of seeing glimpses of season 8 throughout (and especially at the tail of-) HotD. Media, especially great pieces, are only made better through thoughtful criticism- through thoughtful engagement. However you demonstrate a perspective which is simultaneously clickbait-performative derision and wide tongued taint polishing. You misrepresent perspectives of the show runners, purposefully misunderstand the premises presented, and then you walk it all back, tracking shit across the screen all the while you do it. I wouldn’t be so harsh, but this dreck went on for 27 minutes. If you want to keep making this sort of derivative non-content, then please spare the world and google’s hard drives all of that damn yapping.

I'm really late to the party, as I only recently binged all of Attack on Titan and didn't catch the hype train early on. I don't think I've seen ANY piece of fiction, western or anime that goes through so many many MANY examples of showing the horrors of war. The ambigiouty of their cause, characters questioning their own morality, the grayness and the harshness of it all. It's actually astonishing a channel like his who put out so many thoughtful well informed media-literate videos did such an awful take on Attack on Titan. Because I can't possibly think of any show that shows just how bad war and violence is than AOT. I would say many other beloved series glorifies war more if the at is his argument. Like Lord of the Rings, Marvel Movies, Dragon Ball Z.. those series do not take the time to show the sheer depth of horror of violence and warfare like Attack on Titan does. Sometimes even glorifying the fights and battles, DBZ is used as an example because it does obviously glorify the fights even when sometimes literal planets get exploded. But I imagined you'd be hard-pressed to find him complaining about that show like he does AOT. From the subjugation of groups to justify facist regimes, to child soldiers, to genocide to PTSD.. I mean it is intense. Only stuff like Full Metal Jacket, Grave of Fireflies and The Boy in Striped Pyjamas come close. Even those aren't as incompassing as AOT because they are much more condensed and you don't really get those lengthy character arcs. Regardless, what a beautifully written series with very few flaws , it's extremely tight.

It’s not flawed, it’s BAD. Bland and boring characters, hardly a story, BAD acting, shitty CGI (the dragons were ugly) bad props and costumes (Rhaenyras crown looked like it was made of cheap plastic and one could see that they wore bad looking wigs). I hated nearly everything about it. Only thing I found cool was that High Valyrian was spoken a lot. And the actress that played young Rhaenyra didn’t fit at all. She looks weird and I couldn’t unsee her large front teeth because she was gawping all the time. Viserys and Alicent were BORING as HELL ugh. At the end of the season I even forgot to watch the latest episodes because all of it was so forgettable. The only halfway interesting character was the one eyed Aegon, but he hardly had screen time. Matt Smith was totally overrated and I could go on and on and on. Afterwards I immediately had to re-watch GOT again to get my system reset 😂

L + mald + Ratio To negate your statements about the fan project one just needs to pick it up and read it by themselves. To fully take in each chapter is max 10 minutes each, so it wouldn't take long at all, no excuse would be acceptable.

I don't think Rhaenys sparing the Greens was bad writing. It makes perfect sense. Sure, she is indifferent to the lives of the commoners present, but behind Alicent are Viscerys' children, her own nephews and niece. To an aristocrat, there's a world of difference lowborn and kin. She later tells Rhaenyra that it's not her war to start; if Rhaenys had killed Alicent and her children, Rhaenyra would also be losing a childhood friend, and her siblings, the children of her beloved father. Rhaenys felt like she had no right to take that away from Rhaenyra.

I know this video is older now but FINALLY you get the concept of love in aot and perceive it the same as I do , I’ve tried to explain before, there is no romantic development in aot these people are trying to survive and have a will to live they all know they care about each other . If you need some evidence take their saving each other’s lives and making sure they don’t get killed as a grand gesture.

I find that you're waaay to willing to victimize Rhaenyra and Alicent in this review. The hatred that they pass onto their children is very much due to them. And Alicent is in no way of "pure heart" when she interjects at the Green Council. She is clearly planning to install her son on the throne before Rhaenyra finds out. The only non-corrupt justification she has is pretty much laughed at by everyone else during the episode.

Nice review. I watched this anime back when the only anime I knew about were shows like Inuyasha and Naruto. Long meandering stories that felt like they would never end, for better or worse. When Champloo ended i was absolutely shocked and heartbroken. It has remained my number one favourite ever since.

This is utterly ridiculous. If it's great, then it's not flawed. I had told myself after the fiasco that was the last few seasons of Game of Thrones that I would never watch another GRR Martin adaptation again, but I made an exception. Statistically at least, I am above average intelligence, highly educated, and then all honesty after I watched season one I didn't understand what I had just watched. The characters run bleed into each other - sometimes to the point where it seemed impossible to know who was who. Flashbacks, flashforwards, and all sorts of other distractions, made it very difficult to understand this season. Even more difficult to care much about many of the characters, good or bad. So what did I do? I watched it again. And again, I found myself pausing incessantly, going to IMDb, figuring out who was who, and still struggling to care about many of them good or bad. The show is not horrible, it's better than most, I gave it a 6 on IMDb. My view with respect to the major problem of the season, is that it wasn't long enough. They simply crammed too much material into two few episodes, and it left lots of people utterly confused, and it's a shame, because a couple extra episodes perhaps could've alleviated or even eliminated this. I will watch the first couple episodes of season two, but if something doesn't change (hopefully, they've set up the story in the characters now) I'm done. I'm not letting this franchise do it to me again.
