Does this help anything with like performance wise like for corners or anything Jw ?? I got a blackbird I’m trying to learn as much as I can about it

@logan4856 I didn’t notice any difference to be honest. The only reason for lowering was my height. I’m on the short side so no longer on my tippy toes when stopping

Just Seen your video, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7KWm6yB1cnep4k.html&ab_channel=XXMotoVlogs is´t the same procedure on the VFR800, but on that bike is recommended you lower the front forques by the same amount, did you did that or just lowered the back side, and does it still ride strait at high speeds?

good review. i fitted a centre stand, after i dropped the front end 7mm. couldnt lift the bike either. now i push the front wheel onto a rubber matt( lifts the front about 10mm higher) bike goes up on centre stand easy. bit of a big push forward and shes off the centre stand. i ended up removing left passenger footpeg, makes centre stand operation easier too( i travel solo) hope youre still enjoying the mighty strom. 👍

I worked out a a hack for my quad lock when I realised that the hex is only a few mill deep and then opened up to the tube diameter. I looked at the drawing and it clearly indicated, I bought the wrong type for the BB. Doh! Now I’m stuck with it, or am I… The small size hex for the quad lock is perfect for the BB, RAM, I don’t know, but from this vid, they seem to work the same, expanding segments as you screw the nut up, being that the nut and under side of the stem are wedge shaped to push the segments out in parallel. On the quad lock, if you turn the nut around such that the flat side is against the segments and not the wedge, as you tighten up the bolt, the segments splay out under the head like a tripod. On the nut end, due the the pivot angles, it pushes the segments towards the centre such that they don’t slip off the nut and becomes self locking on the final tighten, as the tighter you make it, the harder the segments bight into the thread at the nut end of business. Effectively, it becomes like a 3 leg wall plug, just like with a plaster wall. Just come back from an Alpine round trip with an iPhone 7 and a charge cable hangin off it as a road test… Rock solid!

@xxmotovlogs98092 жыл бұрын
That is a grab handle, and Brad B is correct but some owners take them off and cap the holes which gives the bike a sleek look. You can find them on eBay or at motorcycle wreckers/dismantlers. Cheers

That screen you have fitted is one of them cheap knock offs.. You need a PowerBronze tinted screen, they have a much rounder dubble bubble and also alittle bit higher, you can pick one up from ebay for around £45.. PowerBronze make alot of quality body kits... Also one of the birds weakness is the birds oil lines, As they tend rust up to go after 15yrs. you can buy a pair of braided stainless steel ones from Jaws.co.uk, its a Mod 99% in the UK of us had to do :)

Sounds like a proper Superbike without the dB killers. Like the whistling/whining sound of the straight cut gears in the transmission, my CBR600F4 sounds like that.

Hey mate. I also own this bike an bought also this mount. My problem is, that the screw seems to be longer than yours and so I didn't get the mount fitted. Could you help plz? I took some photos which I can send to you if requested. Thx
@xxmotovlogs98093 жыл бұрын
Hi Dennis XX, I believe the length shouldn’t matter. As long as you can get it to grab onto the hex hole on the big nut that the Bird has it should be fine. That is if I’m understanding correctly. Hope that helps

I was in contact with the manager of "JAWS" motorcycle accessories in England not long ago. She told me how much for the polished stainless Scorpion slip-ons (end cans). I had one on my Suzuki Bandit 1250 last year and loved the look and sound. Problem is, they are certainly not cheap! Just can't see putting out approx. $1200 USD ( over 850 pounds) for them. No blue XXs here in the states. Love the factory blue ones! I currently have a 2001 red XX and a 2002 silver Bird. Ride aware!
@itsmybike10782 жыл бұрын
hi or you could get a set of blackwidows? i got a complete stainless steel 4-1 exhaust system for only £250, thats the headers and extender pipe, plus the slip-on, i think the twin exhaust was actually the same price
@stevesmith62363 жыл бұрын
There's no denying the Scorpions sound great, especially with the Db killers removed. They look great too. But, at about $1100-1250 shipped to the US from England ( for the all stainless steel units), they are just too damn expensive! You lose a few pounds of weight, but really gain very little if any more power. Not worth it.

Hi Steve Smith, very true! I was lucky enough to find mine on gumtree for about 450AUD in very good second hand condition...worth every penny💪😉
@stevesmith62363 жыл бұрын
@@xxmotovlogs9809 That's the way to do it if you happen to find a nice pair. I sold my perfect condition single polished stainless unit ( same exact muffler (can) from my 2016 Suzuki Bandit on ebay and only got back about 1/3rd of what I paid for it.
