Downpipe is 4 inch stainless steel, the whole catback exhaust (which i believe includes the midpipe) is titanium for the tomei expreme Ti system.

Unfortunately when i got the car onto the dyno, we weren't able to truly measure the horsepower the car was making. One of the lines to the wastegate was loose and wasn't allowing the boost controller to work properly. I can tell you that based on the boost levels that we were at, I was making about 30 more wheel horsepower at the same boost level as compared to the older turbo setup. I was at about 517 wheel horsepower at 15 psi of boost on the old setup so i'm estimating that i'm around 550 wheel horsepower now as the car sits at 15 psi. I didn't push the car any more than that due to the 5 speed transmission that is not known to be able to handle much more than i'm already pushing it. It probably could be pushed to 600 if i wanted to though.

Thanks for the video! Nice car and exhaust! Wow i could not even hear the cams on the phr cast manifold! Im after a stealthy setup for my aristo. Going with 4inch catless downpipe to twin resonators and twin 3" exhausts. Would adding the phr cast manifold make it as quiet as stock? Any bassy style drone? Saw in your other comments you have a similar turbo. Mines a 6466 with a 0.96 housing. Have you dynoed the car before and after the gsc s1 cams? Hard to decide between the bc 264 cams or the gsc s1 cams. A part of me is concerned the phr cast manifolds would limit my whp target and would also be a tire fryer since i also have vvti. But im hoping my tuner sorts me out. Only running 93 pump gas. Thoughts? Any tips appreciated!

Thanks for the comment! apologies for the late reply, I did not have the car dyno'd before the cam's were installed so i couldn't speak to how the cams adjusted the power curve. and depending on your horsepower goals, the cast manifold can handle a good bit. Powerhouse racing's website rates it up to 900 horsepower. I just wanted more of that "raw" 2jz sound so i switched up to the tubular manifold myself. I also run 93 octane pump gas in my supra and i made mid 500's to the wheels with my build and could probably do more, but I'm still running the w58 5-speed and am keeping it held back so i dont grenade the transmission LOL. Good luck with your build!

Apologies for the late reply, i cannot remember wiring in the parking brake wire. I believe everything worked without having to connect that wire. I know on my supra for the pioneer unit that came with that car, the parking brake wire was basically a ground to allow the DVD functionality to be used. I just used one of the bolts that mount around the shifter to act as a ground for that wire and had a toggle switch wired in from the previous owner so i dont have to actually pull the parking brake to use the DVD function. Sorry i cannot fully remember if / how i used the parking brake cable! if i did connect it to anything and remember i'll reply to your comment again.

Nope, the scosche faceplate has some thickness where the radio goes in so there is no gaps between the face plate and the radio istelf. The buttons on the lower part of the radio just barely poke out to make it so that you can still press them. If you find its too "sunken in" for you liking then the extra screw holes for the adjustability are what you'd need to do to make the depth to your liking. Hope this helped!

How did you wire the maestro
@knuckleheadsgarage4627
@knuckleheadsgarage4627 7 ай бұрын
There was an existing plug on the auto harness house connection that plugged right into the maestro unit. the only thing i had to do, since the harness i used was originally for a pioneer unit and not a sony unit, was provide power to the maestro unit. That was done with cutting a wire that was meant for power to a plug that was specific to pioneer head units and soldering it into the existing auxiliary power supply wire to the head unit. See the video at around 15:10 that shows the plug and how i wired it in. hope this helps!

My fiance's car came factory with a reverse camera and all i had to do was plug in the yellow A/V style plug into the radio for the actual video feed, The purple and white striped wire that i had to cut and solder into the harness i believe was just the signal wire to tell the radio to transition over to the reverse camera feed. I believe that signal comes through the stock 28-pin harness that is built into the car's OEM harness. Hope this helps a little bit!

Only after I went inside to complain to her about it did I figure out that her car has had this problem the entire time even with the OEM radio. Hello Everyone, am finally able to close the loop out on this problem and hopefully help out anyone else that has this issue in the future. Took off the valve cover and saw a clear issue with cylinder number 1. Noticed that the rocker arm was not centered over the valve and after further inspection saw that the valve spring was completely busted and the valve was stuck in the open position. After finding this, My father and I went to auto zone and purchased the valve spring compressor tool (OEM TOOLS 25220: www.autozone.com/test-scan-...KxOhf8ju1amw_JDBfdxoCdi8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds ) We purchased the valve that auto zone and a lot of other websites said was the correct spring (www.autozone.com/internal-engine/valve-spring/p/melling-valve-spring-vs-1298/689122_0_0) and this turned out to not be correct for our Jeep. The internal diameter of the spring was too small and the cap that holds the valve keepers would not fit in. We also noticed that every valve in the cylinder head including the broken one had a second spring inside the main spring that had flat coils where this replacement spring did not have that. My father returned the valve spring and purchased a comp cam double valve spring that ended up coming with 3 springs. The large outer spring, the middle "flat coil" spring, and a third smaller spring in the center. We ended up removing the third tiny valve spring, the cap fit a tad looser than the original valve spring (was around 1.5-2 thousandths of an inch larger in diameter) and we were able to use the valve spring compressor tool to re-install. Torqued everything back to spec, started it up and it sounds like a brand new jeep again! Thank you to all who reach out to answer this problem and help my father and I out with this troublesome issue! Hope this answer helps someone else out in the future!

I also changed the rear end fluid to the same MT-90. From what I've seen, around 450 lb. ft. of torque is the "stay below" number and I'm just touching that level. I also plan on going to the t56 but not until next year unfortunately.

For everyone that watched and responded on the Jeep forum that i opened up (www.jeepforum.com/threads/5-2-zj-with-warm-stalling-issues.4457361/#post-41453858), my father and I appreciated all responses and advice given! After eliminating the bad catalytic converter, replacing the MAP sensor, Crank position sensor, Idle air control valve, fuel pump, fuel injectors, and spark plugs, we finally found the problem. While changing the spark plugs we decided to do a compression test and found that cylinder 1 has ZERO compression (didnt even move the needle on the gauge). Our next step is to take the valve cover off and see if there is anything obviously wrong underneath it and if all else, replace it with an Ebay cylinder head with valves and springs for 235 bucks when the jeep gets moved into its parked spot for summer and we can afford for the jeep to be down for 6 months while we do a head swap. Until then, he just plans on limping it along as needed with snow (luckily winter is pretty much over in our area). Thanks again everyone!

I contemplated switching up just the exhaust system with the log style manifold prior to purchasing my s23 setup, but after watching countless videos and talking with several owners they all said the same thing, the tubular manifold gets you the "supra sound" thay everyone thinks of. With the midpipe needing to be modified to accomodate the tomei exhaust, i wasnt able to do a log style with tomei or tubular with apexi for an even closer A to B comparison. This still gets the main point accross give or take that the tubular manifold really gets you the tone of the 2jz.

@@marioandultrachap if you want a deep sounding ( kinda dull) exhaust tone, get a log manifold

@Carti.2jz yeah I don't think it's dull at all I like the deep bass rumble feel more than the high pitch raspy exhaust. I'd be getting log manifold anyways for more lower end torque anyways but I do like a real bassy rumble exhaust. Like this setup right here.

Haha dustys the man and yea only through messaging a couple people i could find that ran the street torque kit did i find out i had to go to the tubular manifold to get the true supra sound.... no video really showed that A to B difference so i figured id make one to help other people out with that decision!

Not at all! At the time i bought the cluster, the spare cost me 1000 dollars, the LED upgrade was 275 and the custom faces that i went with was another 150 so it was 1425 all together. Stu has a website where you can see all his options. See the link 97supraturbo.com/

you need head studs
@knuckleheadsgarage4627
@knuckleheadsgarage4627 2 жыл бұрын
That was actually parts that I had arranged to go with the engine when I dropped the engine off at Freed Engineering to replace the head gasket and also install ARP head studs. I was told no need to take the head off as it is more likely to bend a connecting rod than blow a head gasket and that isn't a problem until around 7-800 lb ft of torque. Nearly double of what I am running right now. I ended up giving the studs to my buddy Eric that helped me out immensely with the swap as he had his original TT 6 speed supra's engine completely refreshed. It is definitely an upgrade I plan on doing after i have the T56 swap done and the fuel system capable of turning it up. For now, I don't abuse the car all that much and I don't anticipate any problems due to the OEM head bolts.

@@SutokkuBoizu there are dyno videos of the street torque setup on my brothers channel "the exhaust note" (see the comment section) and i can definitely do a parts list video. I havent been detailing out the install, but ive done a couple minutes explaining what i was able to get done each day with installing this s23 kit. Ill compile those. Ill also be uploading an exhaust comparison between the street torque and s23.
