Hi Aden, thanks for sharing this process. Just wondering did you actually use fibre glass woven cloth with the polyester resin after the aluminium foil or did you use some other compound?
@traviscarter9182Ай бұрын
Amazing build to your whole team and that gorilla in other vid is amazing. Questions for you how do you find the fiberglass stick to the aluminum foil as it should just peel off fairly easy and you may already know this but if you use epoxy resin instead of polyester resin it will not melt the eps foam and you won't have to use the foil. Epoxy is a lil bit more just look how they make surfboards using same foam and epoxy resin. Again great job to your whole team. Thanks.
@AdenHynesSculptureStudiosАй бұрын
Hey Travis, thanks for the comment and kind words. The cost of epoxy resin comes out much more expensive than polyester resin, and more expensive than it takes to foil the sculpture. So it's just the route we go down. And the glass fibre sticks to the foil well enough, and once cured, is on there securely.

Skipping over the part where you take it out of the mold and actually stick it together should be a crime. All I see is you guys rubbing on the penguin In every shot. How do you miss the most valuable parts.
@AdenHynesSculptureStudiosАй бұрын
Hi Marley, we're sorry to disappoint. Please see attached link to see some mould making, and cast extraction, to get your fix: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ibeXnrt1vd-8hqc.html (I would skip to about 3:50 in the video to get to the mould making part, and about 4:45 for extraction)

Outstanding video. Absolutely love your workmanship. I've watched several now and can appreciate the incredible process. As I am a Michigan (USA) retired cat with lots-O-interest in anything artistic or the craftmanship is apparent. I have a love for old barns, hot rods and other mechanical items. I had a friend help me redo a 1967 Chevy C-10 truck frame to give me a more updated suspension. In return I am helping him on his hot rod plus I'm about to create a two sided sign for his new retro garage (Sinclair). I now want to try my hand at building him a medium size Dino using your technique. You carts are inspiring. Also if you are into american hot rods check these cats out. Creative like you and they build only nostalgic Bonneville pirod hot rods: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZrNxn7OntZ6-qaM.html

As always, a stunning job! the airbrushed wood grain could not have been any more realistic! Every time you post a video, I get inspired to do something out of foam! Most of my foam work is for stage productions, and it is mostly flatwork, but I have had fun building pirate ships and the like out of foam, on a grand scale. This is always a learning channel for me, as I pick up little tricks along the way to better my work. Thanks so much for what you guys do!
