Anything in China is high risk, high reward-no question. I pulled an 82% annualized ROI on PDD in just 21 days. But listen, nobody could’ve predicted the protests, so don’t beat yourself up. I was lucky to lock in profits and sidestep the chaos. And you know what? I’m still game to invest in Chinese companies. They’re part of the second-largest economy on the planet. When you sell a cash-secured put, you need to have enough money to buy 100 shares of the stock at the strike price. For example, if you sell one put contract with a $100 strike price, you need $10,000 in your account (because $100 x 100 shares = $10,000).

If you're buying a stock or ETF specifically for the dividends, you want to purchase it before the ex-dividend date. The ex-dividend date is the cutoff point-if you own the stock before this date, you'll be eligible to receive the next dividend payment. If you buy on or after the ex-dividend date, the seller will get the dividend instead of you. So, to ensure you get those dividends, make sure to buy the stock or ETF at least one business day before the ex-dividend date.

Definitely talk to a Canadian tax advisor. But, I'll take a shot with my limited Canadian knowledge. With a 100k income, consider maxing out your RRSP first to get that tax break now. You'll lower your taxable income and pay less tax later when you withdraw in retirement. But if you want flexibility and tax-free growth, put SMH in your TFSA-great for long-term gains without the tax hit. Start with 10-15% of your income in the RRSP, and adjust as needed. Play the long game with your money!

Try them both out for a few months and then decide.

Lam Research's revenue growth forecast is 17.4%. AVGO 43.4%. NVDA 97.2%. And NVDA's profit margin is 2X higher. In my book NVDA is the clear winner.

Hey Chris. If everything goes well then the options will expire for 100% profits. You just need the stock price to stay above the strike price of the put you sold. The put you bought is your insurance that limits your losses if the stock price drops.

With most brokerages you can click "Close The Position" or something similar and it will take care of closing the position for you. And, if it is just below the breakeven price you may have to make a decision to lock a small loss or wait for it to go back up (provided you have a strong reason to believe it will). Of course if it goes lower you could end up taking he max loss.
