Epi pens should be FREE in ALL countries. There is no argument for forcing people to pay for life saving devices.

1:25 Here is my experience, I was suffering from this for past 4 years but never knew it was called anapylxis but urticaria... So i got it like total around 10 times in total... But sometimes what i did was just stay calm observe the reaction.. i would get first severe rashes with intense heat latter cough and wheezing and ofcourse dizziness.... Generally i used to scratch cough wheeze and after an hour at max this reaction would come down.... But lately i had one that made me sweat and loose a little consciousness.... Sometime i wouldn't even take antihistamine also . But from time i hear its life threatening i am beginning to panic more.. since all i thought was this was just urtecaria only I have never used an epi pen in my life and only drug i took was allegra 120 mg tablet whenever i see the symptoms... But this is the important thing i realised in all of these times..STRESS , I feel the more stress you feel the more severe the reaction will be..... So when i felt a lot of stress since people are around me and thinking what they would say.... I got more stress and this led to a more severe reaction...

So is NARCAN/naloxone administered before or after chest compressions? Because it would also be effective in resuming breathing but wouldn’t want to delay CPR either

It’s so scary. After going to an allergist they still can’t figure out what I’m allergic to. I’m 39 years old and never had an allergic reaction to anything until last year. Ive gone into anaphylactic shock 5 times in the last year. Within minutes my throat swells up and my eyes swell completely shut. My body gets really warm and I get a rash all over my body. Anxiety goes through the roof and I’m not able to concentrate at all. Whatever it is it’s not something I’m eating because it’s happened on an empty stomach. I think it’s something I’m touching and then rubbing my eyes.

This video is a copy of a laryngospasm episode a couple of decades ago. ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g8pyiL2flrarZWw.html ) Although laryngospasm is commonly a component of anaphylaxis, this is laryngospasm alone (with none of the other signs or symptoms of anaphylaxis). The general treatment using Epi-Pen is effective, but unnecessary since even in the rare (undocumented) case someone were to faint from laryngospasm, it always passes in a moment or two. Given the unconscionable cost of Epi-Pen, more effective education & behavioral prevention is what was actually needed in this and many cases of such frequent use.

And this laryngospasm is clearly due to anaphylactic shock. Id she faints it is due to her blood pressure plummeting and going into shock.. and cardiac arrest shortly thereafter. Then death.

Can anyone tell me does convolutions happen in a severe reaction? I been diagnosed with alpha gal. I was dumb and ate something i shouldn't. I went into a breakout. Hives itching . My throat started to constrict. I got up and went unconscious. Family said i was sezing. Bowels release and vominting. Neurologist so far on 30 min scan haven't found epilepsy. Can an allergic recations mirror or cause seizures. I have googled and no clear answers. All this is new to me my only other allergy is to the cold. (Re warming ) which is basically warm up and it usually goes away.

Seizures can happen with severe brain hypoxia. It's rare but can happen with anaphylaxis. But if hypoxia causes the seizure the person will likely go into cardiac arrest shortly after.

Alpha gal can cause a multitude of reactions, much more so than many other allergies, so I wouldn't be surprised if it caused you to seize. I have alpha gal as well. Terrible allergy, especially because mammal ingredients are hidden in everything!

Let me tell you in layman's terms what this means. Anaphylactic shock is the life-threatening complication that happen during anaphylaxis, which is a severe allergic reaction to an antigen. At that point, a systemic cytokine storm by the immune system, caused by an over-driven immune response to the allergen that the immune system is trying to deal with, attacks even parts of the body that were not affected by the allergen itself--including the organs, which can lead to severe hypotension, and multi-organ failure, which can lead to TSS and even death. The antidote against this shock is traditionally epihedrine usually administered through IV or a quick emergency injection.

I got hit with one too. Hit with anaphylaxis that almost turned into anaphylactic shock. The cause - From eating catfish. Struck with angioedema, and severe asthma, and feeling like somebody did a rear naked choke on me - my larynx was nearly crushed. I had to vomit the bad stuff and then the anaphylaxis reversed itself. The asthma stopped, the angioedema stopped, and the throat constriction stopped. I recovered in 2 hours even without an Epipen. But I will need it next time.
