They are wooden boats, so won’t do any harm, they are left there for little nature reserves now. So sad to see them in such condition, to think they were used through two wars, so much history and then left to rot 😔 Thanks Zona xx

Great to see you around Southam in this vlog. You called into the best pub when you visited the Two Boats. The chef there is ex army and his food is really good as you found out. We live in Tenbury Wells but my sister lives in Southam so we caravan at the Blue Lias and always eat and drink at the Two Boats. Going again Friday. Keep up the vlogs.

Hi Tony, we loved it at the Two Boats, the food was lovely! In fact, we loved both of the pubs, the Blue Lias with their amazing flower displays was just stunning and we really enjoyed that boot sale! Have a great time Friday and let them know that we really enjoyed our stay at those moorings and the numerous meals we had there too! (it was actually 4 meals lol, not 3🤫🤣) Thank you so much Tony! xx

Hi Julie, considering what happened to Martins phone, I thought you might have been a bit more wary about where you put your walkie talkie. It looked rather precarious sitting on the cratch board 🙂35:07. The number of times I've put something on there, spanners, tools etc, and they have got knocked off, plop.... By the way, a standard windlass should operate those locks. I'm not sure what a go windlass is? A ratchet one? Keep the entertainment coming, you guys are great.

Yes you’re right Dave, I lost a walkie talkie from that very spot and I don’t usually put it there now. I had been holding it and only put it there briefly while I did that little piece to camera. Won’t happen again 😊 My Go Windlass is a ratchet one and I’ve really missed using it, but like you said, our other regular windlasses were fine, although I had trouble getting the windlass off of the spindle, it kept getting stuck! Probably just me lol 😜 Thank you so much Dave, so pleased you’re enjoying our little videos xx

I love your videos they really feel inclusive for me as a viewer. All the video was lovely but I particularly loved you with your Mum, having a cuddle, it brought home to me as much I miss my Mum every day, she died August 2009 and despite me now being 71, a girl always needs her Mum. Big hugs to you and Martin.

Your 'British Summer' is an awfully lot like this past 'British Winter' when it comes to rain. And, of course, the summer hasn't been great for temperature either. I'm getting used to vloggers going from winter gear to summer gear and back again in a day. I'm fortunate to live in part of the US (Indiana) where we don't get most of the crazy weather. Our biggest concern is tornadoes. Take care! ❤

@@JulieandMartinonRIB That's our thing here in Indiana. Sometimes it's very close and it's always a matter of pure luck. Last year there were two that were VERY close. My sister worries about hurricanes, a friend in Hawai'i lives near a volcano and, of course, in the west there are earthquakes, extreme heat and wild fires. Nature can be very scary.

"Cruising" down the canal- better than any tv program and a great stress reliever❤️💙 How far did u walk between locks? Perhaps an in total estimate. Car boot sales are big in Aust - in my last clean out I made $300 ❤😊 Thank you both Jan Adelaide

Hi there, the total distance the locks cover is approximately 1 mile. but walking back and forth I would say me and Nikki walked about 2.5 miles lol. We love boot sales, you never know what you will find! Thank you so much for your lovely comment! xx

Hi guys, even in the poring rain your adventures are so inviting. Great idea tying to two boats together, Martin two boats did a great job.🤣🤣I bet that made doing the locks so much easier. I loved the MGs the first one was an MGB GT and the second one looked like a TC to me pre war. My car is a red MGA 1959 roadster, red because red ones go faster.🚗 I named her Rebeca after my mom, so she is always with me and looking after me. Oh my goodness all that yummy food had me drooling and such scenic and beautiful locations, just wonderful. Stay safe guys and I look forward to your next exiting episode of.... Having the boats joined together really helped, having Nikki to help me working the locks, but Martin did a fantastic job didn’t he! When I was first married, my mother and father in-law made us go with them to every flea market, (the New England term) and set up our own stall. This video reminds me of where I live. In Melbourne Australia we have a saying “if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute” We are quite renowned for having 4 seasons in one day! Lol, neither could we, we had been calling Martin ‘Martin Two Boats’ all day, so when we saw the pub name it was just so funny! And then when my sister sent that card for Martin’s birthday and it had that picture on it, we just couldn’t believe it! There was no name for the picture, but it’s definitely the same one! That pub the Blue Lias was sure pretty. I wish you could send some rain to Washington State as we need it! It's been hot all July except for a few days last week. Got a kick out of Martin steering both boats through the locks. The pub food looked delicious! Seeing the hedgehog made my day. I'm glad he could be released after a good rest and food.

Do you have to compensate the steering when rafted up like that?,I’ve had to when I towed a friend alongside but it was only yoghurt pot boats,lots of fun though 🙂

Yes a little, and Nikki’s boat is heavier and more deep drafted than our boat, so her boat pulled that way, Martin quite enjoyed it, and it was a practice run for the big flight of locks at Hatton! Thanks Shane! xx

Great vlog as always great idea to tie both boats together nice to see your mum bet that was nice I seeing my daughter and son next Saturday first I seen them for two years they coming to say last good by to my friend who passed away 6 weeks ago his ex wife payed for daughter to come down from Wales as got on so well well this year we seem to be a lone spring this missing summer out this year the meels you had looked very nice even the fish finger roll that's new in a pup stay safe see you next week

The food was lovely at both of the pubs, we don’t often eat out, but we felt we deserved the first meal after those locks lol. And it makes sense when family and friends visit, otherwise I’d be spending time cooking instead of spending time with them! Thanks Nicholas! xx
