Thanks for posting this. I have a Philips very similar to this one. It was shutting off when I put a tape in and also eating tapes. I did what you did and it seems to be working now. I hadn't used it in a few years.

I have an Aiwa NTSB / PAL Video Conversion VCR and I have attempted this turn and turn off procedure hundreds of times but it hasn't worked. I did get the machine to stay on for about twice the time it stayed on when I first started this procedure, but I seem to be at an impasse now. Any ideas?

i would remove the speaker from it's cabinet to work on. Keep your cabinet safely away when doing this. Accidents happen. You should recap it so remove the speaker.

He's kinda rough. Be gentle so as not to add scuffs and scratches. TLC

I am having trouble hooking up the speaker wires. I do not have this exact system but a similar one. Also the ground wire seems to just attach to a staple on the back of the speaker.
