Another exquisite superb job. Good Job! I just bout an Audemars Piguet Cal. 2003 which I believe it to be very similar! Might try to service it myself first if things don't go to well, ill let you know... Accident? Coma?! WHAT ?! seriously. I wish you the very best recovery.

This is probably a dumb question, but I’ll ask it anyway. Wouldn’t plastic tools (instead of metal) be better for avoiding scratching anything? If not, why is metal used so much?

Hello, Regarding the RB mark, this auction notice, "ROLEX “White gold Prototype”, Oyster Perpetual Date, Submariner, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified, Ref. 1680, movement no. D701771, no serial number, circa 1973", claims it stands for -- Rolex Bienne. Wikipedia says Rolex has a factory in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Apparently Rolex has been using the designation for quite a while; here's an old 17 jewel movement, found on the "Watch Guy Watch repair blog" which has the RB stamping. So, yeah, I really can't say the mystery is solved, but it some fun and light research on a Saturday afternoon, so time well spent. Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much for the information. It is right that when I went to Bienne there is a very big Rolex factory. Can be the reason of the code for Rolex Bienne

I'd recommend storing your hands a bit better, rather than dropping them in the dial holder. Those can be easily scratched doing that. Also are you sure your using the Rolex Tech spec? Several of your oil locations are supposed to be grease.

Yes I use Rolex Tech Spec

@@FrenchWatchCollector Cannon pinion/minute pinion and areas for the winding bridge are supposed to get grease rather than thick oil. Just a few areas!
@trevorbuttery90566 күн бұрын
Hey There. Great video. Not many 4130 videos out there. A couple of things I noticed: -Make sure you take care in grease placement and the amount of grease you apply. Around the chrono mechanism there was a lot of grease applied. -Rolex actually wants you to hack the movement when installed the clutch and chrono wheels. -Be careful removing the hands. It looks like the minute sub dial hand was bent in the middle. I'd get a set of very small hand removers for those. -I'd stray away from polishing unless you have specific equipment. Without laser welding, your rounding the edges of the case way too much. -It would be good to show other positions while timing. Dial up is only one of 5 positions needing to be measured...technically. Cheers!

@@FrenchWatchCollector I'm just surprised you go through all that trouble meticulously taking apart the watch, then when it comes to the minute hand at midnight you accept good enough 🤷🏻 all Rolex watches have an instantaneous date change exactly at midnight.
@FrenchWatchCollector11 күн бұрын
@@shamrocky it cannot be exactly midnight. The tolerance for a brand new rolex is -1 minute +2 minutes for the date change. It is like be at +/- zero secondes per day it doesn't exist

I have a question related to re-plating a Cartier Vermeil Watch. Cartier refuses to do it and recommends it should not be done. But after a complete overhaul by Cartier mine still shows significant tarnishing. What’s your opinion?
