Hi Kiyo! Yes, you're quite right about these scenes being touching! I'd be curious to know how many grandchildren Tokkuri 00 has now (?). Her daughters will learn /have learned from the greatest alpha and an excellent mother!! Thanks very much for the video!! 🙂🐒🙂🐒🙂

When I watch the longtail macaques of Angkor Wat Cambodia, it is obvious that they don't have such similar rules. In fact, the mothers expect their older 1-3 year old daughters to help them with the newborn. Even the alpha female allows/expects this.🙏🏼

Can anyone answer a question for me? Why do the names have numbers after them? Always been curious. Thank you ahead of time🙏
@theopinionisthighqualityopinio2 ай бұрын
Hi again! Sorry, but I saw this only now. If I've got it right, it has to do with the birth year. For example Tokkuri 92 was born in 1992 and Tokkuri 92-16 means that she's the daughter of Tokkuri 92 and she was born in 2016. That's the way I've always understood it, but if someone knows something different, please don't hesitate to correct me. Ciao! 🌞 PS - the same thing goes for all of the females.

Thank you. I didn’t know all that.

@@theopinionisthighqualityopinio Thanks so much! Appreciate your info. I hope this doesn't bore you but thought I would explain my story. I initially don't watch these videos but over a span of 5 years, a colleague of mine who was also a mentor to me was working on his thesis at the time I was in school for forensic nursing. He was interested in the similarities of human behavior and monkeys and actually traveled to Japan, Brazil,and Indonesia, but visiting Cambodia where he was hoping to complete his thesis, he saw too many things that horrified him and as far as I know, he never completed it. All that hard work and this is how I ended up on here on KZfaq. He told me if I wanted to see the horror of what had been going on, most of the vo's (Videographers) claiming to care about the monkeys is basically a coverup. (By the way, I have the utmost respect for Kiyo and if I'm correct, his channel is out of Japan which is where my mentor visited and spoke highly of.) I began watching many of the videos here and it didn't take much to see exactly what these people are doing. I don't want to disrespect Kiyos channel but if you have seen the other channels you probably have your own thoughts about them. I'm grateful to have found this channel. Kiyo has such an extreme passion and respect for these primates which is why I will continue to watch his videos. Every one of them has a story and its so clear that Kiyo shares them with much love. Thank you again for answering my question. I truly appreciate it. Also, I hope this didn't bore you at all. I'm sure I will see you again when Kiyo posts another video. Take care!😉

The history of the Tokkuri family, with your explanations, is fascinating to me. Thanks so much, Kiyo!! Until next time!! 🙂 🐒 🙂 🐒 🙂 🐒 🙂

I agree! Just watching these videos are exciting enough but the history is so fun to read about. Not like any other video on primates.
@theopinionisthighqualityopinio2 ай бұрын
@@RobinMarconeCassidyRN I know, right? I used to watch the longer videos shot in the park, but the explanations in these make all the difference! The viewer can follow the relationships and developments in the family, without having to try to figure out what's happening on our own. I love his channel with the wild forest monkeys too! I agree with you about these not being like any other videos about primates. In fact, these are so well-done and by someone who's emotionally invested in their well-being, that nothing else comes close. The only other channel I watch about monkeys is the Vervet Monkey Foundation channel, but it's a totally different kind of thing since it's a sanctuary. In other words, I'm hooked on these videos and glad to hear that you're as enthusiastic about them as I am!! 💯👍🙂

She has always been the very best mother...one of the best macaque moms! She has always taken such wonderful care of her own babies and in addition to that has taken in babies that she did not give birth to and cared for them and successfully raised them alongside her own babies. Its not many macaque mothers that are strong enough and caring enough to raise actual biological twins successfully yet she would take newborns in and raise them with her own newborn and do it so well. To do that and the fact that she would actually adopt other babies makes her unique and so special!

She is not hungry. These monkeys are fed several times a day by the staff at this park. In addition to that despite what you might see or hear bananas are actually much too sweet for monkeys and are not something they would ever eat naturally in the wild

Do snow monkey males typically stay in the troop or do they leave after reaching adolescence like other macaque species?
@PrimateProductions2 ай бұрын
Like most macaque species the males usually leave by adolescence however recent research has shown that males (macaques) does not always leave their natal troop like it was believed they always did...

Tokkuri 00-17 must be nearly 8 years old and in the best form of his life so if he was going to be alpha male then it would happen within the next 3-4 years.
