I am not impressed anymore by any Red Bull sponsored activities 😂 which are only meant to risk the lives of sportsmen and women. I am a Kiter for 16 years now. I can jump high but I won’t do things on the water or in any sports which coerce me to take a long brake from the things I love.

Hi Mike. I think your idea to make a riding in rotation video is a great idea. I was at a lovely lake and the guys were right foot forward, but I'm left, and seemed to be the odd one out kind of getting I the way, but trying not to. I didn't feel great... Thanks for all you do for the community

Hey Mike, great tips on how to land with the board. I got that part good but i don’t know what to do with my kite. Do i sheet out the bar before landing oder where do i move my kite for additional lift before landing. I would appreciate a tip on how to move the kite in the air and what to do if i travel more downwind than my kite

finally got the time to listen to this awesome podcast. @gethighwithmike , i completely disagree with having the goal for making big air competitions understandable by the general public. Look at any established sports and the elite riders in be it X games, SLS, olympics, what ever. How many snowboarders besides the pro's and enthusiastic ones understand a cork 1240 stale fish when done in x games? How many casual skaters understand a big spin flip tail slide done on a ledge at SLS ? How many viewers understand the tricks the gymnasts do at the olympics? Same for freestyle skiing, bmx etc . Majority of viewers watch it because it's gnarly, not because they understand the tricks Elite tricks done by the pros should not be lowered in difficulty just to have the average Joe understand it. The bar should be pushed forward , just need to make sure that the tricks are still done with style, height and proper angle.
@Periclesz
@Periclesz 14 күн бұрын
i don't like high double loops either and will always prefer a single with proper angle and style, but we don't need to dumb the tricks down just for casuals to understand them

The bar is modular like every other bar. Shipping is 15 Euro and done from Europe which is a PITA for those living in North America. I paid 54 Euro (80 CAD) with tax for a safety line change shipped from Germany to France... Also why continue to use PU tubes which are impossible to inspect, a PITA to fold properly, and much harder to find OEM ? Durability doesn't mean much when you can't see wear and tear...

Mike my friend Tim bought the sensor 4 bar 3 weeks ago.He allready have to change the inserts because they are completely wearn out. I know him as a guy who realy takes care of his gear not like some kiters i know. With the sensor 2 and 3 this was also an issue. I mean the wear in my opinion goes way to fast.Love Core realy do but if you buy a bar for 850,- the material should last longer.

Looks like a nice bar and good job on the review. I'd get rid of anything white on it though and how easy if it had universal knots/ loops instead of changing pigtails around. 🤟

What do you want to do on the 8 or 9m? If loops are the goal then 8 or 9 Pace for suuuure. If you want to go massive, 8m XR.

@@gethighwithmike i have the xr pro 9 and 10 now but i dont like the 10 for “light” wind looping, the 9 needs like 20 and up knots to loop comfortably, i want the pace 10 for sure but i do like the 9 xr pro for the overpowerd conditions and not a flapping kite.. so im kinda in a struggle. 8-9 pace or 8-9 xr pro. Also in mind the resell value of the xr when a new one comes out in couple of months?

I think you should definitely do a video about line lenghts for bigair. I have a question concerning this. I am riding a 10m Ocean Rodeo Flite 5s aluula. Its not a particularly fast looping kite. But it boosts well. So far I prefer looping it with 24m lines. For me, with 22m lines on the 10m, I find that I need more wind to loop it safely and it also loops lower and pulls quite a bit more, which I dont like. With 24m lines I feel like I can get more height in my jump, the kite still responds quite well. Im more confident that the kite will catch me on the 24m lines than the 22m lines. But maybe I have not used it on 22s enough. Are there certain kites where you would recommend 24m lines to loop a 10m?
@marcfigueras6827
@marcfigueras6827 14 күн бұрын
I'm not an expert, I've only looped on 6,7,8 and 9m kites but I definitely find it much easier on 22m lines than on 24m lines. Interested to hear Mike's reply in the next video

Incredible that in this day and age, there are still bars that cannot be trusted and that to fly safe you should spend nearly 1000 bucks for a bar. I ride a compstick bar from Slingshot thats over 10 years old with super thick lines(thanks to Ruben) and don’t worry for a second.

Great pods! thanks for the content Mike. For alternative ideas how to run competitions and judge, I'd suggest to check redbull wake duel. It's a one-on-one knockout wakeboarding comp. very interesting concept. riders themselves are calling it best comp of the season. 3 judges, no scores just pure decision who won the face off. riders draw their opponents before comp. plenty of drama, rivalry, story building. let me know if interested, I can find their rules and other details of the comp. it's happening in 313 wake park in lithuania.

What i miss in this vid his how hard you steer the kite in before you land the jump. I am almost every time afraid to steer it to hard resulting in a crash but ending in landing with almost no speed. I think its a mental thing.... ;-)

Looks like an epic bar. The only thing they didn't need to do for me is increase size of the floaters. I really like that the Sensor 3 is one of the most compact bars, and I hated the massive floaters on my Ozone bar. Hopefully the Sensor 4 still feels compact.

@3:36 Wait what, with low split front lines longer that back lines...Isn't it that when you control line stretch, all are mounted in a single point and have a same tension? Or is this a Core having different lengths?
@gethighwithmike
@gethighwithmike 15 күн бұрын
The lines go from having a kink in them (making them shorter) to a straight path (therefore longer). Look at the image carefully :)
@mikemiller774
@mikemiller774 14 күн бұрын
@@gethighwithmike It still does not make sense to me. So, this Core bar: let's mount all line ends in one point, fully release trim cleat and pull in the bar. All the lines should have same tention. If we would like to use this bar with kite intended for low V - remove split thingie and that should be enough. But as you say we need to do a correction on cleat - meaning front/back lines are not "equal" length here? It's clear that having that spreader up shortens front lines, but that should be a "problem" of bridles on kite to deal with.
@erbesnard
@erbesnard 14 күн бұрын
@@mikemiller774 The difference is not that big if you want to be reassured (less than a cm). I think, that contrary to what Mike said, the double knot on the pigtail is made to compensate for this small difference. You mount the front as double and the rear as singles. That's a clever design. Using the trim is also an option, although you lose a bit of trim range. Depending on the kite you can choose different knots on the rear, or adjust with the knots on the rear leader lines. Is that possible Mike on this bar?
