Sometimes it feels like we try to get exactly the right club as though that is the problem, but really they might just need to learn how to golf…. I can see for people who are below average in strength would get more distance with a lighter club, and a stronger but slower person might benefit from a heavier club…

Very interesting to see that technique should have been addressed right from the start.Hitting down with a driver, really? Fitting should of stopped then and technique addressed after 5 shots.Then fitting of the club could have continued.I guess if the player has bad technique then they should have a lesson or two before turning up to get fitted.Great vid again

Just switched to MMT 85R in 923 Hot Metal Pro 5-Gw. Your videos helped me tell the fitter I wanted to try graphite. What would you recommend in wedges in terms of weight and flex? Considering MMT105, MMT85 or the fitter recommend possibly KBS tour lite regular (95grams)

Been playing golf for a year (aged 42) nowhere near me has any golf coaches where i can get a lesson Im 5' 10" is standard club length ok for me? I really struggle getting the ball in the air Maybe once every 20 shots ill get the ball in the air (so i know i ca do it) The problem is the other 19 out of 20 are all just 20, 30, 40 yards scuffed along the grass and thats with every club
@SwingFit
@SwingFit 7 күн бұрын
This generally means you are catching it low in the face and are blading the ball so it could be length or it could be a little bit of Indian and you are standing up through impact also known as early extension. Film your swing from DTL view and if you see your head raise and pelvis move to the ball the. You are early extending, here just think sit in your heels during the downswing. If it looks good then length may be the culprit.

Been looking at the Srixion ZX MKII and looking at what combo I’m thinking this and maybe add the Srixion ZX utility iron in a 3 or 4 to swap out my 7 wood or 3 hybrid depending on the course I’m at. ZX4 5 iron, 6 iron, 7 iron ZX5 8 iron, 9 iron, PW And should I get the Attack wedge or just buy it with my wedge set.
@SwingFit
@SwingFit 15 күн бұрын
I would go AW in the iron set as a traditional wedge will be hard to keep up with the distances of the ZX 5 irons. And utility irons are no joke, definitely one of my favorites out there.

Hello and great video. It sounds like you have a lot of experience and time using this type of mat. Can you tell me if hitting of of this mat or any mat in general will create scuff marks or rub off the bottom of the club as compared to regular grass? Especially for fairway woods and hybrids. Thanks you for your time.

These type of matts generally won’t do any damage to your clubs. Heck I will go as far to say that we can take a demo head that we have used all year and polish it up and it will look brand new. So no concern at all.

Incredible. This is identical to what is happening in my current game..I just purchased a set of Mamiya RECOIL 480 F4 shafts and am looking forward to installing them. . May i ask, Do you recommend a particular swing weight with Graphite over Steel ? and do you also think an iron should be 1/2 inch longer when using graphite, over steel ? Great vid content. Big thanks for this one.
@SwingFit
@SwingFit 25 күн бұрын
No I don’t agree with longer lengths in graphite but I understand why, and that’s because SW is so hard to get a the Standard length and there really isn’t that much you can do in regards to tips weights for graphite shafts. But with that said I will say whether or not if you play steel or graphite everyone has a preferred SW and it won’t change regardless of the material. Best of luck to you.

At your height you could use a little extra length. Go you know for sure comes down to a couple of things. Are you catching the ball low in the face, and or does it feel or look like that you have to bend over more just to find the middle of the face . If both of these are no then you are likely good to go.
@TheArake07

I know I’m a few years late, doesn’t cutting out the yoga mat to make room for the cardboard/tape just remove all of the extra cushion right where you need it? If not, couldn’t you just use cardboard under the whole mat? And if he yoga mat is better than the cardboard, why not use a section of yoga mat wrapped in tape(to keep the tee from ripping through)?

Not sure if you had a question, but I will take a stab, everyone wants to hit it farther but you should never base a decision off of how far the best shot goes. But rather how good or far does the bad shots go would be more of a telling picture of how effective or good a golf club is for you. So don’t chase the distance and it will come.

Glad to see another video from your channel! I have a question about my dad who is 64 this year and starting to lose distance and confidence from the tee. He is working with a TSR2 10 degree head with loft turned up and stock HZRDS (black color) regular flex shaft. I suggested he try a regular flex Ventus velocore red or TR red. I also suggested he get into a higher spinning ball because he tends to hit drop kicks that fall out of the air too fast. I thought the Bridgestone Tour B RXS was a decent option for him to try. Anything else you’d recommend? I know going in for a fitting would be best. He did this for his current driver a year or so ago. No recent injuries for him, just getting older. His current ball is Kirkland Thanks for the great work you do!
@SwingFit
@SwingFit Ай бұрын
I would say all of the above would be a good option. In specific anything we can do to optimize the launch conditions would only help. We all know distance is predicated on ch speed first and foremost, as as we get up in age there are a couple of things we can do such as looking at lighter weight driver options, doesn’t always work but it could be a possibility. Tsr1, and basically everyone under the sun has one out there, lightweight shaft and head can help. The other piece is making sure the delivery is optimized we don’t want to be hitting down on The ball and we need the club path and face to path relationship to be in alignment with one another. If those three things check out then it is without question speed and gear. I hope this helps.

I recently got fitted for new T200 irons with project x lz5.5 shafts my previous set was ap1 with dg s300. I’m really having trouble with the new irons trajectory as it is about 20’ higher than I’m used to seeing, and I play in wind a lot so I’m used to a more boring trajectory. Also thinning a fair amount. BTW 57 y/o 6.6 handicap with 82 mph 8 iron swing speed never had a problem stopping irons on a green with s300. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance

Shafts could be a small factor but the launch conditions with the t200 and CG location is likely more the culprit though. So I would go back and share feedback about height and see if you can revisit the head with the newer DG Mid 115 shaft.

Awesome content. What might be really nice to see, are some swing videos of "early release", "late release", slow tempo, fast tempo, hard loading vs smooth swinging golfers etc... and then what type of shaft category you'd choose for each swing type... viewers could then say "that looks more like I swing, I should maybe consider a shaft that's more tip stiff, or more but stiff etc... seeing what swing types match up with what shaft types as a fitter would be awesome, and I don't know that I've ever seen any videos show that in a visual way..

I had my LW and SW extended to match the length of my GW. That solved a length problem, but it created two new issues. The first was that because my wedges were longer, their lie angles were effectively a couple degrees too upright and balls were shooting left. Easy fix though. The second issue is a significant increase in swing weight, as the added length has made the heads feel so much heavier. This isn’t really fixable short of drilling away material from the heads, which I’m not inclined to do. So long story short, just get fitted for your wedges in the first place and you won’t have these issues.
@SwingFit
@SwingFit 2 ай бұрын
All great points but we build all of our wedges long and you do t have to remove weight from the head in fact you really can’t without ruining the integrity of the head. So to offset the longer length you just need to add a counter weight in The handle. Simple fix and it works every time.
