Do we need the same quantity when we use the fresh rose petals? In your written recipe, there is no white grape juice. Would it mean that white grape juice is not mandatory to add?

You will need about 3 Oz of fresh rose Petals per gallonof wine. The grape juice is not needed but a must for me because adding additional flavor which Rose Petal Wine needs. I will update the recipe I missed that. Thanks for catching. 👍👍🍷🍷

I’m really enjoying your videos! I’ve just recently decided to start making wine from fruit and stumbled across your videos. I actually was just at this store and he sold me all my wine making equipment and gave me some pointers for just getting started. I live only about 20 minute drive from there. I’m currently on my 6th day of primary fermentation of my first batch of strawberry wine with my home grown strawberries. I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for all the great info so far. Help! I’m so bummed. I followed your instructions to the “T” and added in my packet of yeast yesterday afternoon. When I got home from work today the air lock wasn’t bubbling and there weren’t any real bubbles /bubbling action on the top of the grape juice, but when I stirred it it started bubbling like soda pop. I don’t know what to do. Would it be okay to add another packet of yeast? P.S - I use RO water since that’s what we pay for in our home. We live out here in West Texas and the well water & city water here is horrible and nasty.
@HowToDoneRight
@HowToDoneRight 3 күн бұрын
First ro water can be used but not ideal as wine needs minerals but it should still ferment. Add additional yeast and be sure to watch my stuck fermentation video with things to try also. Did you use a juice without sulfates as suggested in the video? Don't give up on it. It took me a week to get my lemon wine to start fermenting. Are you seeing any foam?
@gennyt.1306
@gennyt.1306 3 күн бұрын
@@HowToDoneRight - there was a little foam when I first opened the cover this afternoon. I’ll be sure to use bottled drinking water from now on. And I’m going to be sure to watch your stuck fermentation video. I feel so relieved from your reassurance to not give up and how your lemon wine took a long time to start fermenting. I just gave it some yeast nutrient to hopefully help it to get going. I bought good grape juice without sulfates…no -ates in the juice at all. I also just added another packet of yeast.

One thing that discourages me about making things like homemade wine or baking or pickling is the logistics. I'd rather make them in larger quantities than smaller if you are going to the trouble of securing dozens of items for the process. Small and simple is better for weekly consumption, easy cleanup, and minimal storage. Example: I make two gallons of limoncella and yerba mate in 12 hours.

You can also try this: If you want to measure the specific gravity without an hydrometer you could measure the mass of a known volume and divide by the mass of an equivalent volume of water since specific gravity is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a substance of reference, usually water.

Hi Todd, the Strawberry/Banana wine is so tasty!!! I bottled 26 of them. I was also going to tell you that I finally bottled my plum wine which ended up taking close to 11 months from start to finish. This was the wine I told you about that I did so many things wrong with that I thought I would probably have to throw it out. It was a frustrating, but also an enjoyable experience working with a wine that went from totally cloudy for many many months to absolutely clear. I had racked it about seven times using multiple clearing agents and adding more pectic enzyme a couple times also. This was the wine I started before I found your awesome channel. I made 6 of your wines and bottled them before I even bottled this plum one. I made the plum wine sweet like your wife, Laura likes. It taste very good. I am calling it Plum Delight.
