I’ve never hauled marble, this load freaks me out. Did anyone have any problems with this load?
@choicemas14 күн бұрын
Not at all. Just remember your pulling marble. I don’t drive the same when I’m pulling coils as I would if I were pulling lumber. A motocross racer takes the turn differently if the soil isn’t packed. Basically, you secure and you drive according to condition and circumstance. Make sense?

You did that all wrong Choice 🤣🤣. Obviously I'm joking, I just always wanted to try being a troll lol. Here is something I have been wanting to ask you though. I haul a lot of complete jobs of commercial roofing. This usually means that there are rolls at the front and back with skids of mixed product in the middle. Obviously that mixed product is not going anywhere front or back but when I strap it down all I do is crush the boxes. Then I get to my first checkpoint and give it maybe one or two more clicks, same thing. I've never had one shift on me but I have tried multiple different things. I have used the wide V-Boards, no success. I have tried the wide V-boards with 2 2" straps instead of 1 4". Same thing. I know it is not going to move but I also don't love it when I do a strap check. I tap them and know that they are the same as the last check but still feel that they are too loose. Is this just something that we deal with or is there a trick that I don't know? Thanks for the help and congrats you your daughter and to you and your wife!!
@choicemasАй бұрын
This is a good question and hope that other people, especially beginners read your comment brother. Yes, your are correct there is not real trick to it. At least, not that I know of. Not only do the soft boxes get crushed under the pressure, I’ve even had some pales and buckets implode. Not to the extent that they break and leak, but as I apply more pressure with the strap down I can see the pales/buckets start to give at the brim. If there was anything I’d suggest it would be to continue using the edge protectors. Longer V-boards are better because they cover more area of course. The only thing that I’ve done that I think is a plus when I have those miscellaneous materials that give way is to throw a “Smokey”over the pallet. What I mean is throw a very small smoke tarp, or even a moving blanket, or one of those small cheap blue tarps over the entire pallet and the. Throw straps over that. Almost like brick tarting the pallet. Brick tarping: when the tarp only covers the sides of the freight and the front and the back are wide open to let air pass through. With brick tarping the objective is to keep the brick from falling out and off the side of the bed. The tarp isn’t for protection of the product at all. It’s nasty precaution to keep anything from jumping out and off the side of the bed. Using the same concept over the pallet works. Still you won’t be able to get those straps as tight as we would like them to be. It only gives a bit of relief to know nothing will jump and out off the side of the pallet. Hope that helps brother. Good to hear from ya. Stay fresh Driver!
