Theres much people dont know about french poodles. For one thing they are a hound. They were bred to hunt. They also helped keep the farm free of pests like rats ,mice , any kind of animal that got into food storage . Theres so much more people dont know about them. Oh .....they make good gaurd dogs if trained right.

I had a Jack Russell live to age 19. He was a great hunter. He was very loving. He wasn’t as energetic as my family’s new JRT, but loved to play in his younger years. Throughout his life he brought in at least 50 animals, including a rabbit just a few months before he died. I also hate to admit this, but when he was like 1-2 years old he brought home a dead kitten. He really was the best dog I have ever had. He was with me from 12 to 31 years old. He was part of our family. Everyone in the neighborhood loved him as my grandmother just let him roam. He had her trained! He knew all he had to do was bother her or bark and she would let him go outside. He was an extremely loving and loyal dog. My family’s new JRT has big shoes to fill. RIP Winston

Hunting poodles may be more active, higher prey drive, and need lots of exercise. What about confirmation champions? To show well and be "up" for 3 days of grooming, show life, and walk in the ring with confidence - that may require a specific temperament. Very calm and patient while on a grooming table and big presence in the ring, and loves attention. While emotional support, therapy, or companion poodles exhibit human focus, sensitivity, and sometimes desire to be part of the family. Seek out the type of poodle that best suits your life style for the next 12-17 years. I've had 10 standard poodles and all different. 9 out of the 10 were OK with less exercise to relax. 1 hunting - show poodle required 4 miles per day, every day. Some poodles can get into chewing for a year or so, others not ever. Some bark some not so much. Thus ask a lot of questions and don't settle on the least expensive poodle ... because it's the lifetime costs that count most.

When I first got my JRT poodle mix, I didn’t know how to carry her. Turns out, the “like a football” is the best way. She’s not a snuggly dog, so carried head first is better for her than “like a baby” or held close to your body. @MsTarentum I agree! Mini-poodle teeth seem especially difficult. I read about it, but didn't really know how important it is to them e v e r y night. Our mini had as many teeth removed by age 3, as our other little boy (not a poodle) did at age 10 - 11. Our mini doesn't love chewies (first dog ever) which makes it harder. to keep tartar off. God I love him tho. 💕💕

One thing that you forgot to mention is how fast they are. It's the fastest small dog, and usually ranks in about 5th fastest of all dogs. All the other dogs above them on that list are about twice their size.

Most loyal dog I've ever had. His little ass did flip his crate, slid the liner out, bent back about 6 rails and climbed right out. Stayed with his little Latin chihuahua girlfriend for about a week and came back home.

I love my Aussie....Chacha girl!!! She has many of the same characteristics as the Aussies in the video. She is so excited when her papa returns home from work, or any family member whose been away. She becomes quite vocal, puts her booty up in the air and turns circles.I prepare home made meals for Chacha and treat's. She knows, she is so loved and spoiled.
