Been going there when they started on Western over 40 years ago. Then moved to Redondo and Western and then opened a 2nd location on Artesia. Then ended up on Redondo and Normandie closing the 2nd location cause they lost the lease and open tge takeout next to the resturant. Family owned.

Thankfully not too much food went to waste. The nice thing about this spot is that the portions aren’t huge so you can try a little of everything

I'm about to stay there today. It's 2024 so I'm hoping & praying their renovations are complete. They said on the phone I can check in early any time after noon & it's free. Before noon is a $25 fee. & That is if they have a clean room available early. They are still short staffed on housekeeping & it is 3 years later, so maybe they keep it that way to save money? Thanks so much for your review; it was very helpful & fun!

We went there last weekend with some friends for the 1st time, very disappointing. They screwed up drink orders, food orders, and it was not that crowded. The food was OK and with all our issues the management did the right think and comped it. I think they sew still trying to figure things out, May go back to give them a 2nd chance

That’s sucks sorry to hear you had a bad experience like that. Unfortunately sometimes it happens at restaurants but I’m glad they tried to make it up with the comps. I know I’ll be going back to their buffet soon or to try their tacos 🌮

Wow...I just made some menudo and it's way cheaper here in Texas. I made 2 -3 gallon pots for around $60. The menudo you like is called honeycomb tripe. I like to put in pigs feet to take it to another level. But yea, the price you paid is highway robbery. lol I am making real authentic barbacoa for the UFC fights this weekend. I bought the head of a cow and can't wait to steam it. The facial meat of the cow tastes waaaaaay better and completely different than any other meat...it like being addicted to crack ha ha. I learned from my Grandmother as did many other people my age on how to make tamales. menudo and real barbacoa.

Sounds like you know how to cook some good food. I think the hardest part of making menudo is making sure it’s nice and clean so it doesn’t have a bad smell. There’s no better place to learn how to cook than from your grandma I feel like those old school recipes are always the best. 👍🏻

@@delafoxchecks The beef tripe quality depends with the supplier. If it smells off then I send it back. Just like fish..if it smells fishy ..I get a refund and buy again. The tripe should have a fresh smell to it and not be off-putting when you buy it raw. If you need to add vinegar or baking soda to take away the bad smell then that tripe has not been cleaned at the meat plant or it is not fresh.

Why do you keep referring to the area as the "Hood"? It gives a negative connotation. That area is surrounded by high priced real estate, excellent schools, and college educated residents! So do some research before you make other videos referring to the "Hood".
