I digested the electrical code very thoroughly when doing this work. In BC, a homeowner can wire their own home under permit. This was filmed in 2019 just prior to the electrical inspector's visit. This particular foam is colored such so that the inspector can see that it's there. It's designed to slow the spread of fire by eliminating cracks and air passage between studs inside a wall. The deer are regular visitors and we are so used to them (and they of us) that I can walk up to the shed and be within 12 feet of them bedded down and all I get is a glance. Always appreciate your comments, Doug. All the best to you!

This was 5 years ago and I've since finished (most of) the house. The deer are regular features in our backyard, some showing up year after year for a carrot or an apple. The females bring their young here and we'll often see them bedded down near our shed. Not as much fun as the raccoons you have, Steve, but they'll have to do.

The problem with your saw was the diaphragm. no need for a whole new carb
@EverydayProjects
@EverydayProjects 5 күн бұрын
Dear Headcheese, You're partially right. A diaphram most likely would have remedied much of the problem, but it wouldn't clean out the small passages throughout the carb. Swapping out the whole carb is fast and the original can later be rebuilt properly (with a thorough cleaning, new diaphram and gaskets). I plan on disassembling the original and placing it in an ultrasonic cleaner then rebuilding with new parts. These videos aren't a one size-fits all solution, just one of many ways to get the saw up and running quickly. Thanks for your comment and input. All the best! Craig

Is it still hard to start. Because mine was sitting for 10 years with a bad starter, I fixed the starter, and it fires up on a dime every single time. It can sit for months and still start as if it was running 10 minutes ago warmed up or 1 engine revolution at the most. It’s like the engine just left the factory and the rest of the tractor was rotting away. Can you do an update video on your tractor, show the current progress and what still needs to be done. I seem to enjoy watching you work on your tractor more than I like working in mine. Thanks for the content.

I've been planning an alternator video and this might just be the push I needed. Let's see what happens in the next couple of weeks. I put in a new starter a few years ago and have used it hard while trying to start this thing. Maybe it has lost some of its original power. I haven't done much to the tractor this year as so many other things get on the "To Do List". I hope to do more this FALL but the alternator install should show up soon. All the best!

How many k`s were on this engine? I`m wondering if putting 300 ml of diesel in the oil as a flush would help with cleaning the passages through the separator? Good video btw Thanks for sharing. Cheers Also instead of thinners I wonder if petrol as a solvent would be better as it`s more compatible with oil etc
@EverydayProjects
@EverydayProjects 8 күн бұрын
@@DaMan1964 320, 000 Kim’s on this engine. I would avoid solvents added to the oil to flush. Volvos are fussy engines and their recommended service procedures are best. Go to rockauto.com, buy a PCV hose kit and separator and maybe even the o-rings for the pan seals and do the work of changing all of these components. Bummer, yes. But it’s the way to go. I have all the videos on my Volvo playlist at the homepage of my channel. Sorry, but that’s the thing to do. Solvents won’t clean out the type of gunk you saw in the video, not added to the oil without risking an oil starvation issue to bearings, etc. Good luck and please share and subscribe. I have an email address in the description if you have more specific questions or want to chat. Cheers. Craig

That's a good question. That's why I installed a top-quality, deep, stainless steel sink that with average use should last 30+ years. By then, maybe someone else will be replacing it and maybe changing the countertop. That said, the concrete could be re-poured along the edge if the sink did need replacing from the top, or changed from beneath without disturbing the concrete at all.
