handle bars are wrong, they ident have the cross bar and the pillion hand hold bar behind the saddle was not fitted to British bikes Probably this is an American import or a mix of a few bikes Mine was also K reg I had one in 1982, great bike and the same colour as this one

I loved the small touches, ie alternator cover / system, battery not visible, fold up pegs for kick start etc etc etc etc, Nice

I had a 250 Goldstar. It leaked oil, your feet vibrated off the foot pegs at 70mph. You got a 12v shock from the battery when it rained. God I loved that bike^ Wish I still had her.

Now I know why I bought a Japanese 250 (KH250 thank you very much 👍🏻👍🏻) instead of the rattly old (which were then new-ish) British bikes that served the same learner market……. Lovely bike and serves as a great historical point in British manufacturing.

Nice bike!! I have this exact model,,,my GL is from November 75.. There certain things about this model that you donot see on US bikes or even European GLs.. First is the lower rear chrome mudguard,,its at least 1/2 inches lower then most bikes and very rare and so hard to replace (ask me how I know) Next thing is the badge under the headlight,, apart from mine I have never seen it on a bike younger the a 79. I thought someone must have fitted it to my bike as an accessory and was going to remove it,,, Lasty I think the handel bars are wrong ,,the bike I suspect came with flatish bars,,but for me the Egros where all wrong so changed to American spec bars... I could be wrong but doubt I am regards all...

I remember these bikes as if it was yesterday, I worked for a local Honda dealer where we unboxed many of these beauties brand new, you excellent videos reminds me of the cartoon program called Mr Bens Shop where you never know what is coming next as you walk into the shop, memories are like new old coats they remind you that one is alive in so many ways.

Now in my 6th decade I still remember seeing a biking friend of mine ride past the town bar we all went to, on his new CX500 in 1978, at the time I had a RD400 Coffin tank .... We all thought his CX looked quite impressive shining in bright red .... How times change eh. That looks beautiful, someone will be the lucky winner. 🙂

I bought a '79 in May of '79. My dad cosigned the loan, $98.26 for eighteen months, I was 18. Put 80,000+ on it, before giving it to my brother for a daily rider.
