Hi Blake, Old Male 75 yrs Pensioner here from Australia. Just watched your Video. I have a Upright Freezer / Fridge - NEC possibly 2009 yr. Being working alright. I overloaded the top Freezer and it stopped freezing. I removed all from the back compartment so the Vents could operate. At that stage the Fridge compartment was working. But now the Fan in the Freezer section is working and food is frozen, BUT OMG the Fridge compartment is not cooling? I have removed the rear bottom cover which was caked in fluff and inside I thoroughly vacuum all out. But with no avail still no cooling to the Fridge section. Is there a certain tricky method I can apply DIY to save paying for a professional to look see. Your suggestion or ideas would be greatly appreciated indeed. John

If it warmed up during the process of repair it can take time, on some models for the dampers on the vents from freezer to fridge to open back up and let the air move to fridge section again. That is if they have electronic controlled dampers.

Thanks for taking the time and effort of making and sharing this video :) And as it has been pointed out by others, even if the Compressor "checks out fine" it is not necessarily the relay, some (many) "fridges" that have a little larger compressors have a "start Capacitor" that "helps with startup current", and if that fails the compressor might not start OR start very briefly and then stop. In that case You more likely have a bad "start capacitor". Best regards.

Great information man, now I have an idea about what to check, normally I don't comment on videos unless they are so helpful like this one, I really appreciate the effort you have in helping people that don't have the money at the moment something happens with the fridge, THANK YOU A LOT!!

Very good thanks but I would find it bit more helpful if you had included a wiring schematic for the electrics to the compressor.

shouldn't have hooked your @10:14 hose up to read neg pressure, you put air / moisture in the fridge from the hose. check when its warn and it would have had pos pressure, or purge your line with gas first

Hi there. This is what I have, does it indicate a bad relay, it is a combination relay type. Whirlpool WRT111SFDW03. 7 years old. 11.2 cu ft size. Freezer on top. Start relay P/N: WPW10448874, aka W10448874. Capacitor ("cap") P/N: WPW10662129 Test relay connections with capacitor on the relay. Results: when together I can get cap to charge and discharge thru the start relay, just like it does when it's off the relay. With cap off and on, neither of the lower holes have continuity with each other. The hole on lower left has 0.0 ohms resistance thru the bottom blade of the back of the plug. The lower right hole has no continuity with anything but can be used to charge the capacitor for testing. The upper hole has 0.1 ohm resistance to the top blade on the opposite side. Remove relay cover and visually check. I cannot get combination relay apart without breaking it, so I haven't committed to that, yet. Ohm test the fridge compressor pins again. Make sure the Common (top) and lower pins are within 3 ohms. And the two pins at bottom should read about the sum of the Common with the Start and Run pins. See KZfaq video... Results: Top and Lower Right : 4.4 ohm. Top to Lower Left: 6.0 ohm. Two bottom pins: 10.4 ohm. None of the pins are shorted to ground. My problem is it suddenly stopped cooling without noises or warning, but I caught it from hearing loud buzzing noise from compressor and relay area, and compressor was very hot. No smoke or smells though, and wires did not seem to be hot. Do you think it's the combination relay? Thank you!

I just had to have a new compressor in my 1 year old Hisense basic bottom freezer fridge. Thankfully it was under warranty and they fixed it for free. My concern is, if these compressors are so, cheap?. Will this one last another year, break and NOT, be under warranty. It's a basic 18 cuft fridge and cost me 800 bucks with ice maker. But 14 months great working then dies? Not cool. Thanks for that video . I thought maybe it was a start capacitor or something. But when checking the compressor, I did feel pulsing. But freezer died in about a week after temp started rising. Thanks

This seems to be more of a recovery pump than a vacuum pump. It could be used as a vacuum pump with some type of check valve/ oil chamber on the outlet side. I definitely like the idea tho because without the chamber your able to use it to recover with you can pull a vacuum.

Refrigeration compressors are low volume, for faster vacuum use an AC compressor for an old windows AC. drain the oil into a container before soldering, then add it back In. I'd put a suction line filter neutralizer on the suction side to protect the compressor.

You'll need an adapter for systems with 134a in them and if any others use the new threads on the hose nuts. I have a wagner valve that is the same design and lost the instructions, I wish you had shown more of them in this video. I had forgotten after piercing the pipe you remove the top of the piercing pin. Using an adapter it doesn't matter. I would put a plastic port cap on when finished for extra seal insurance.

Omgoodness thank you for this tutorial! I was loading my dryer with a blanket and then remembered to clean out my lint trap and when I pulled the lint trap out, the lint fell back down the shoot! I tried to stick a wire hanger (that I fashioned into a hook )down to pull it up but no cigar 😢. So I googled and came across your vid. All I can say is thank you for breaking it down because I didnt know what to do besides calling whirlpool. But I got my handy-dandy Ikea tool kit, and pulled my dryer forward out of the laundry 7:35 closet and followed you step by step so I could get into the lint container. My dryer is new so the only thing that needed cleaning was to get the sheet of lint out of the metal shoot! Took me an hour because I was more afraid of loosing all the screws lol!! So i put them in a cup. And Joila! Everything is put back together and my blanket is now drying!! Thank you so much!

So what is the problem if it is running weak and the condenser coil is not hot and the refrigerator is about 50 degrees? Then later the refrigerator assumes room temperature and the compressor still runs? No oil leaking around condenser or compressor. Answer: you may have a bad LG compressor that has failed. You know the type with the recall.
