'67 here and zero regrets about growing up before the interwebs were even a thing. Somehow I figured out how to drive from missouri to LA , then to Denver with a U-haul, without any technology or parents. Lame kids now have no clue

Goodson-Todman games, in my opinion, have always explored the human condition with a great blend of compassion, playfulness, and honesty. And "To Tell the Truth", one of its enduring formats, is one of them. Truthfully, I never expected Mr. Garry Moore to end that particular game with a gentle and encouraging call for the viewers to reach out for help if they are lonely and/or have any thoughts of committing suicide. Then again, Mr. Moore always was an invitingly warm and gentle presence and he was right to put the message out there. I'm happy that I discovered this moment and just as glad that you're sharing it. Thanks so much.

I saw this show in the 1970s or 1980s. It was funny. Butch had good questions unlike others I've seen. The girl asked good questions too. The guys were a bit reserved. She received the better prize.

I figured the first segment was about William M. Gaines, so naturally it followed that those were his parents in the photos. So when they were called black, it really confused me. As for the John Gray segment, it was very revealing about racial stigma of the time that the two imposters instantly said "I'm of Swedish descent," and "I'm of German and English descent." Depressing that two people first have to establish that they are not black before telling anything else about themselves. But that was the reality.

Looking more into it, looks like he hit 660 home runs before calling it a career. He possibly could have broken Babe Ruth's record if the winds at Candlestick Park weren't such a big problem for him.

Allen said he didn't know about the "educated" part of the puzzle. Maybe that came from the first game show he hosted, "G.E. College Bowl", where two teams of four college students competed against each other for scholarship money. It started on NBC radio in 1953, making the switch to CBS television in 1959. He would leave the show in 1962 to focus more on the original version of "Password".

The contestants were all fantastic, but I thought Jim Lange made this show. He was a radio announcer in the San Francisco and LA areas and they tapped him to host the show. He had that radio DJ quick wit, and was perfect for a show like this! Plus, he had such a commanding voice.

Honestly, I guessed the professor when they said their name. Numbers one and two carefully enunciated the name, number three said her name very naturally. It didn't sound like she was trying to pronounce it correctly.
