Love your aqua scape! How long did it take you to cycle? I am on day 10 or so and have high readings on everything! BUT my ammonia wont go down! i keep doing water changes like crazy. I think because I added some rock after I cured some rubble so maybe leaching ammonia. I am wondering if I should add more but dont know that I need to because all my reading are high so something is definitely happening just very slowly! I didn't read until after I added it to check for amonia first and if you have some not to add! I am wondering if I should add some bacteria from my display tank. He never mentions that but I have always heard that will speed the cycle! I have salinty at 1020 might lower it and temp at 85 would like to get higher so may plug in another heater! I would have added all the rock at once even if its not in place because you dont want to add dead rock after the cycle! Thats why I am having so much ammonia! I have a basket of rubble I am wanting to add now but it leaching ammonia so I guess I wont!

Awesome job on the Aquascape. It would help us to see it if the finished product was on a darker surface.

Thanks for the video. Exactly what I, was looking for. Just traded a buddy of mine some high end Zoas for his Alkatronic. Gonna be hooking it up very soon and was looking for some info on it. You answered all my questions.

How do you flatten the rock that way, or did you buy it like that? Do you know the best way to flatten a rock without it crumbling in pieces? I would assume like a Sanding belt or bandsaw but would like to know the best way to get the rock flat like the ones you have in this video.

Any make "Super Glue" (cyanoacrylate) will do. Just make sure it's the water thin version, not the gel.

I had an issue this morning with my unit. I was testing some new saltwater and my cat went and knocked it over! It was a pain in the ass. I would take the prism out and re-seat it only to get "Air" as an error message. After a few tries and some expletives later, I think I got it fixed. Recalibrated it and hoping it's still accurate lol. May buy a refractometer to compare just in case. Love your vid. Not a lot of videos on repairing this. Cheers!

Tool hoarder problems: I wonder if I should use the cold steel chisel, or the dewalt construction chisel. We're certainly not using the fancy woodworking chisels.

Hi, I have a freshwater planted tank 1.30x60x60 with two returns 1/2 in the corners and overflow in the middle, do you recomend a single or dual vca flex nozzle?

Very porous rock. My concern is that detritus and uneaten food will collect in the holes all over the rock. Thoughts ?
