We had tremendous performance variety amonst our various Carrera cars. Alan did some research, and landed at making a 0.9mm shim/gauge that goes under the chassis where the magnets are. Take any two Carrera cars and trim the tires down so that the chassis magnet is 0.9mm above the rear tires contact plane. You may be surprised to see your dog cars all of a sudden get very close to the others. It's nice to have cars be equalled out - factory does not engineer them properly, so good luck.

I hope you still monitor your channel . I’m trying to make my own guard rails . The Carrerra ones are hard to keep on and frankly are expensive. I’ve been using card stock with small binder clips . What material did you use to make the plain white rail fence please ? Thank you .

I had an old window blind and used the slats from that. Not a mini-blind but regular one. The backside had plastic tubing screwed in to the table. They held up really well. You can buy them online if you do not have an old blind to use. blind-slats.com/products/horizontal-products/

Some interesting ideas. Love those Westwind elves. I have a selection of the Dwarf Wars miniatures. They are quite nice. A bit large but not too large for 28mm stuff.

Great video, love how your track looks. I like the Grey track. Agreed about the Carerra cars not having enough street rods. I just joined the digital 1/32 side of the hobby in last few months. Much love for the old hot rods. I am sad there are so few. As is a few friends. We are branching out into Scalextric and Pioneer as well. Gave you a sub. Race On!

Great video. Hope you do more 3rd edition. I have just been building a undead army so good tips. Quick question the max for a skeleton unit is 30 troops. Do you allow summoning skeletons to increase a unit over the 30 max. Watching video looks like you do?
@ProxieModels

I think the mins and max model count is for building from the list. A unit can be summoned at less or more than the limit. Thanks for watching.

Nice makerspace! Now that the kids have grown up and moved out I'm thinking of getting my stuff out of the basement and into one of their old rooms. I'm just getting into 3D printing and I've had a lot of failed prints this winter which I believe is due to how cold it is down there. I've seen they have new SLA printers which have heated beds but they are quite outside of my price range.

I defintely find the resin clean up and stench to be a barrier to doing it much. FDM is a way lower barrier (for me) to actually make stuff. As annoying as the optimization is.

Liked and Subbed! I've only just re-started slots in my old age but have loved em since I was a kid. Just got my Carrera 124 sets a couple weeks ago, and this post is just the kind of imagination spiking information I needed! I was already looking at Revell models, thinking there's gotta be a way to make model car bodies work, and boom! There you are! Thanks brother, this hobby isn't necessarily cheap, but it costs a whole lot less than my other one which is RC cars lol.

An inch here, an inch there, a dozen units later and you lose a full foot of maneuverability on your 6x4 game board. The issue wasnt the base sizes it was GW scale creep constantly going up from the traditional 25mm, up to 28mm then to 28mm heroic (30mm) and finally now we are at 32-34mm for modern AoS miniatures. I don't even care or keep up nor will I rebase or conform except perhaps to use 20mm-25mm spaced movement trays for old world since I already use them when I'm playing Oathmark. I like the usability 20mm bases provide, I can always use adjustable movement trays but you cant easily go down to play games like Kings of War and since GW isn't the only game in town anymore GW can kick rocks considering I heavily 3d print and favor miniature brand agnostic games these days

I agree 100%. Since making this video my enthusiasm for the Old World has cooled a lot. I am still going to give it an open minded look. But the bone dragon model showed the direction it is headed. Gigantic, ludicrous models with volumes of special rules. I think that game already exists.

I wish you could buy just the digital chassis. I will just store the new body's were i used there chassis.

There's definitely a market for simple models. Not only easy to assemble, but also not loaded with extra details. Especially with Contrast-style paints a new player can get a lot of models cranked out to an acceptable standard. I've been buying a lot of models second-hand since GW isn't making them anymore, and the older chunkier models are so easy to work with. Especially since they don't have gobs of fragile details that snap off regularly like modern plastic kits.

Chariot rules are a nightmare. I use a modded version of the rules from 4th. Much more playable. I gave my Dark Elves spears too! I treat hero models as scouts, so they can charge. I do however add the units rank bonus and let people wrap around a hero if they want.

I've been basing with round bases to try to maximize ability to swap minis between systems. Yes, you then need an adapter base, but I hate the idea of pulling a mini off a base. Years ago i also decided to base every mini I own in the same basing scheme so I can mix and match without worrying things will look out of place due to the bases. (Also, it removes a point of decision-making from my indecisiveness. )
@intzbk1
@intzbk1 6 ай бұрын
You can buy adhesive magnetic sheets for pretty cheap. Add to your minis and the movement trays and that's it. I'm not going to rebase what I have on circle bases but for my pile of shame I'm using the new base sizes.

A few months back I made Kill Team: Strike Force Justinian with my old RT Blood Angel models and just stuck the old 25?mm bases on top of the new 32 and 40mm bases and added stirland mud and some tufts. Now, they are about the height of primaris marines and are still the cool beakies.
