For the first one, you can just continue speaking and providing requests As long as the outline is there, you can just keep throwing requests consecutively at Siri (for example, “Hey Siri, what’s the weather like” can be followed up with “What time is it” without needing to say Siri again) until it fades away For visionOS in the future, it’ll probably work kinda like how the beta UI works on the Mac, Siri just shows up as a glowing outlined pill with a text box there

@@CtrliPhones See the thing is, I don’t trust that. Even in ChatGPT’s conversation mode, it’s still not perfect at detecting stops, ums and pauses. Sometimes I have to hit the “circle” icon to indicate the end of my response, or to call the assistant to listen to me again. So a clear visual indicator like a blob, that I can tap on is still way better. And regarding visionOS, trust me. A floating orb AI assistant talking to you is way cooler than a floating glowing textbox you propose in what should happen in Siri’s interface in the visionOS

@@mancerrss Fair, although it listened to me for around 25 seconds after completing a request with the new UI, it still stopped listening too early on the occasion. And yeah the orb definitely looks cooler on visionOS, so they could end up keeping it or changing the colors on it to better match the new Siri branding everywhere else. I also think the orb made more sense on the iPad and Mac to some extent as it looked good in both light and dark mode and didn’t “interrupt” what’s happening onscreen on the iPad I would like to see the new screen outline design come to tvOS and watchOS though, those would both probably look quite nice.

There’s a few different ways to go about this actually. To get the files directly from a plain IPSW image, you can use github.com/dhinakg/aeota to decrypt the ascw data within an IPSW file Alternatively, though, you can use the iOS 18 SDK’s simulator runtime image which is already pre-extracted, which can be downloaded from Xcode 15 Beta or Apple’s Developer website And finally, if you know a direct file path for what you’re looking for, a lot files in /System are readable from sandboxed applications on a running iOS device. Here’s an example of a Shortcut that extracts the whole /System/Library/Audio folder: www.icloud.com/shortcuts/0b3b76a0ad7e42df93194616317c3f8b I personally prefer using one of the first two methods since they’re more easily searchable than hunting for every specific location where audio can be on the iOS filesystem
