I think it’s important to spell out the truth about living in a particular city/country. All the pros and cons that you’ve experienced regardless as to whether you’re going to offend the locals or not. Some of your Cons may not be Cons to other people,so it doesn’t matter. I believe that with a bit of diplomacy one can say things the way they truly are and not sugarcoat them to avoid offending. Love your videos,as usual.

Hi Rose, I haven’t seen one of your videos for ages, and nothing has come up on my notifications with regard to new postings.Sorry to hear of your Brother‘s loss, please accept my Condolences. Unless I’ve missed one your videos pertaining to your move to Madeira,I am dumbfounded. I always thought that CRETE was your forever move and that overall, you were very happy living there.I don’t want to know all the nitty gritty, but WHY THE CHANGE OF HEART ABOUT GREECE? Very interested to know whether things didn’t work out or that a job relocation was the main reason. Hope to hear from you soon.

Yes, your video has helped me immensely because I would never move to a city or country where you cannot flush the toilet paper down the toilet. Crete. Thailand. And a few other countries are so far behind the times! That is so Dark Ages kind of stuff. It's well into the 21st century, in case they haven't noticed! They have the monies to UPDATE THEIR PLUBMBING, but the greedy politicians are too busy doing other things with that money. Thanks for saving me time and money in going to Crete only to have been shocked by the toilet paper issue. God bless you, richly!

I would LOVE allot of Crete vs Madeira cost of living, lifestyle, food, etc we are from the US and have a 3 year goal to move to Europe and those 2 places are on our top 5 list (as well as Sicily, southern Spain, and Croatia).....we are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys and only I'm fully remote working (my husband's remote but location locked to this State) anyways I love watching videos that help me learn what direction we may want to take (ps I lived in Nigeria when I was a child for a year so "kind of" fellow African lol) 🫶🏼

I was just wondering, how do you manage to support yourself??, as I know Crete is very expensive, and there are no jobs there for foreigners..., The reason I am asking is because I would love to move to Crete, but I don't know what I can do there to support myself.

I would love to move to Crete, and I think I would fit right in as an Orthodox Serb., However, I don't think there are jobs in Crete for foreigners, and the only thing that makes sense for survival there (unless you are a millionaire) would be to live off the land, and perhaps fish. That being said, you would need at least a few hundred thousand dollars to get started..., If there is a better chance, or different opportunity, then yes, perhaps there is a possibility.

It is suprising that there are people who want to move into Greece or immigrate to Greece. This is because the Greeks want to immmigrate out of Greece, and many have immigrated to other parts of Europe.

Your treatment in the airports was clear racism. I'm sorry that you had to endure that. Your husband in my opinion should have never left your side. Here in the US, white people (and other non-black people) will use the excuse of "just doing their jobs" to discriminate, harass and demean black people. Often times the racism isn't overt, it's subtle, aka microagressions, even unconscious, such that people aren't even aware that their behavior is racist. Racism isn't always an overt malicious act by people with conscious ill intent. I hope to be able to move to the Aegean coast of Greece one day, but I'm fully aware that the disease of racism is everywhere and can show up in the most mundane ways. Stay safe my sister.

Very informative video! Thank you very much! The electricity part was extremely important, and the logic behind this is brilliant - you have outstanding bills but you have no usage, DEA won't disconnect you, but as soon as you need electricity, DEA cuts you off because they know you will pay.

Hey great content, I wish you best with your KZfaq channel. No disrespect but I need to educate you on a few things. I’m a mixed race of Bosnian, Turkish and Arabic. Firstly Greeks are not white. They are mixed and basically apart of Middle East. If you do research they were actually colonized by the Turks and Arabs so there mixed. They never colonized Africans so frankly you have nothing to worry about, your not in danger. If some Greek is rude to you it’s not because of your skin color. I know you have been raised to think that but no worries there not white and they have no racist history if you actually do research. Please don’t bring this mindset to Greece thinking your being attacked and hated wherever you go. If a Greek person gets to know you I’m sure they will love you unless your not a nice person and feeling victim or maybe that Greek is just not a nice person. When I went to Greece there was many Greeks staring at me and some were nice besides few times I got dirty looks so it doesn’t matter if you are African even I dealt with hatred. Many Africans in Greece live peacefully and comfortably and have never experienced racism. If someone doesn’t like you maybe there going through something. I pray you are having good time in Greece and remember they can’t be racist because they are mixed people and also very hospitable. Every country though has rude people so please don’t bring this environment and mindset to Greece. Learn Greek and actually try to make friends you’ll be in shock that they care less about skin color.

Crete is a beautiful island of Greece. The people there whilst they want your money, they are more interested in serving you first. They believe if you look after the customer the money will work itself out, unlike mainland Greece. They are a civilized people. I believe as do many Cretans, Crete should become autonomous and break away from Greece.
