Ego is more attuned to their battery technology and software managing of power draw and charging. their design of the actual devices leaves alot to be desired. I have a first gen self propelled mower (brush motor) it works fine BUT the lever to propel wears down or is loose or degraded (possible corosion on contacts) and always engages at full speed and not the default slow speed it is set at). something is also likely loose as if I do not fully extend the push arms it seems to work fine. Common issue is that many manufacturers overcomplicate the design with too many features and less relaibility.

I had had trouble with the old push mower thing needing the blade cut off switch bypassed (thanks KZfaq) due to a corroding switch, so I hear you, but.,.heh, my gripe, since I come from a tech company is they are not tech savvy :"enough". The warranty work guys can do "diagnostics" on them, and they barely can tell anything about the state of the device. It's criminal the feedback loop on them is not at the level of a car that can tell you which sensor is bad and usually "why".

@@slkttop I have owned many chain saws. Stihl, Husqvarna, and then a crappy EGO. Yes I know how to tighten a chain lol. I even sharpen my own chains by hand with a file. There's 5 lights on the battery. Each light represents up to 20% of a charge. When the 5 lights are on your charge could be anywhere between 80 to 100%. It must be closer to 80 percent on the battery, which is why the mower gave you 91% for all batteries. The LCD screen is also continuously re-calculating the percentage. It's sort of like the estimated fuel mileage on a car's lcd screen, which changes based on driving conditions. It can go up or down while mowing. In your situation it said 91 for awhile, you switched batteries around, no charge was being used, so it calculated 100 for longer running time.
@DrummerTim13Ай бұрын
Solid Red means overheated. Solid Red will not charge until it cools down. Your solid would not charge. If you leave it on the charger, the charger will start charging it once it cools down. Blinking Red means low battery. Blinking Red will charge. Your blinking would charge.

Most people say new batteries aren't as good as the old ones. I have 4 that are 6 years old and going strong. I have had more issues with 6 newer ones in the Z6. I got solid lights when first used this spring, because I didn't charge them monthly. Put them on the charger anyways while solid red, and minutes later they started charging. I also got solid red in the shed one morning, because for some reason they didn't charge overnight. They are definitely finicky sometimes.

Same issue after 36 hours, but mine gives the Left Lapbar Error Code 412/311. Yours sounds like 413/312 for Right Lapbar. Originally it randomly stopped while mowing, but other days worked fine. Later it randomly wouldn't move after charging one day, but the next day worked fine again. 1st Repair Trip: Delivered it to them while it was moving. Diagnostics told the repairman that it was the battery compartment, and no other errors on his laptop. Ego told him that the battery compartment is a false alert when first hooking it up, but replacing them is common. They told him to do Updates and re-calibrate the bars. Then it was randomly working as usual so they though it was fixed, but a day after having it back it failed to move again after charging. 2nd Repair Trip: Delivered it to them with it not moving and the Error Code on the mower. Diagnostics again said to replace the battery compartment, and Ego approved it. After the repair it moved for the repairman. No other diagnostic errors were found. When I went to pick it up it randomly gave the code again, and wouldn't move. Repairman hooked it up to diagnostics while I was there. For the first time ever the diagnostics tool finally showed the 412 Error Code like the mower was saying. The software told him that the LCD Screen needs to be replaced. Now I'm waiting for that to be done. Manual says a 412 or 413 is the left or right rear PCB Circuit Board under the seat. Don't open while under warranty! Meanwhile, Ego Software doesn't mention the PCB Boards and instead says battery compartment and LCD Screen. After they replace the LCD Screen I'm expecting it to fail again, then they might finally replace the PCB Board like the manual says lol.

Thanks to all you commenters. I really appreciate it. If anyone does NOT have this issue, on their 2018-era X5M, please let us know. I think I got what I was looking for: confirmation that BMW is telling the dealers to tell us that the transmission on the cars that are afflicted with it, has been designed with this jumpy behavior at low speeds on purpose, because BMW thinks "it acts like a DCT". I have mentioned in a couple comments below, I think that is wrong-headed on BMW's part since I own or, have owned two DCT transmission cars that don't do this, and drive smooth as glass in a parking lot or garage.
@ramifayed9436Ай бұрын
I have an e92 325xi, and it does the same thing, replaced my transmission, switched to a square wheel setup, replaced my transfer case fluid, got my axles redone, deleted my front drive shaft. Still doing it, BUT ive noticed that it gets less noticeable after a long drive, so i made my peace with it. I guess it’s something related to a clutch engaging in the transfer case, or maybe thats just an xdrive thing.

It's the nature of the transmission; BMW tried to make the ZF8 look and act like a dct. There is no "park" so unless you give the car some gas it will act as if it is in neutral. You can test it on a gradient, let off the brake and after a few seconds, the car will roll.

good question. 1] extra width for some slop, in case one does not perfectly pull the car in to the same exacting spot each time. 2] the doors have a super wide, sweeping travel. I needed to be sure, and it's almost impossible to measure for that sweep ahead of time. 3] I needed to be able to squeeze out after opening the door, so you have to account for me, as well (there's no room to walk back to the end of the car, so I had to get out the side door). and 4] I had the room on the container, so...why not?

@slkttop7 ай бұрын
Why are you even here? Over 400 PSI, yes, and that is why it is called a HIGH pressure fuel pump. And, no one said the pump "performance" would increase, did they? The shape of the dome in the cap changes as you torque lower or higher, causing plausibility errors bc it is running out of spec at those pressures with the wrong shape or distance in the compression chamber in the pump. Playing with the torque values was done comprehensively, from low, to high, until a threshold of torque was discovered that would make it run wo errors. It was to get the pump to operate within tolerances so it would stop coding. But I guess you didn't hear that part, even though it's in the title.

Will this work?
@slkttop8 ай бұрын
welp. Thanks for asking, but I am no electrician. Just the fact you are calling me "mate" makes me wonder if you are from the land down under, Or or Europe, perhaps? Here in the US we have 220v that is what was powering my actual electric heating element and our 220v has two 110v wires and a neutral and, ground is ground, wherever you can get ground. So, in that case, I was trying to start a 110v water pump off of my water heating tank, and could not use the 220v, so I cheated. I bought a 220v relay/switch that could switch a 110v powered device on and off. So 220v lugs right off the swim spa board, sent directly to this relay, it switches on and off when heat is demanded by the pool, and then the switched side switches 110v on and off for a Grundfos pump that pumps hot water to the heat exchanger. Sending 220v just as a signal to tell something to turn on and off is overkill, but I had little choice. There is no 5v "on" signal to control a heating device, for instance. Hope that is clear, but I think you should make sure you consult a real electrician.

@@TylerClarkMusic glad I could help. One more thing: The Corvette Stingray, at least (a local forum member just got a Z06--have not driven it yet) has grandpa-like steering response and feel. it's horrible. Dead spot in the middle where no steering occurs even if you move it 1.5" either direction. And gets worse when you remove the run flats and go to soft sidewall tires. Worse than any of my BMWs which have "numb steering" and that is saying a lot. But The C8 feels planted and easy to drive for someone who does not want a lot of drama. Now, compare that to the McLarens, especially the Sport series (not the Super series, which have accumulators) and the steering wheel is like a slippery live eel trying to get out of your hands. You will feel every pebble in the road. Bumps and uneven pavement will move the wheel in your hands, putting you half way across the lane, unexpectedly, like a proper track car. You have to pay attention. Exact opposite of a Vette. I suggest, rent both, one each day, from Turo. And see which one you like.It's $$ to rent, but worth it. I rented a 570, but bought a 720S. The 570 had wilder steering feedback, but I knew I wanted a McLaren. Also, McLaren 12Cs are cheap, and do have some manufacturing and reliability issues. The newer the models, the better the cars get. The 570s and 650s are better in that regard.
