No offensive but “the guitar is doing something else” They have more than one guitarist And even if they didn’t they can still record more than one guitar track That little riff in to the end is the guitar Also you know what they do to guys like us in prison is while he is in prison Hence they said “come with your arms raised high” And let’s just say he dropped the soap

If you listen to Gerard Way's solo stuff you realize how much Ray Toro's guitar adds. Way's solo stuff good too, but like you said, Toro's guitar is underrated.

So happy to see your review on the world is ugly - in my opinion that’s the most beautiful song ever made (even so many year have been gone since its release). Try to hear the first version of it they played during the black parade tour in 2008, its way more sad and still so fucking beautiful!

Wendigoon has a video where he really explains the story of the album. Basically there's two perspective in this album; the patient's perspective, and death's perspective. I suggest watching the video cause his explanation is now my headcanon for the story of the album

Fun fact: Gerard and Mikey Way, the lead singer/songwriter and bassist respectively, are first cousins, once removed with Joe Rogan of all people. Although I don't think they've ever met, at least as of a few years ago. And Gerard is the genius behind the comic book turned hit Netflix series Umbrella Academy.

your description of the tracks is weird? it has 2 guitars at the same time but on different tempos, you cant sing to it.. and saying that the chord progressions are simple is just wrong, they are super complex and many songs change tempos midway using really unusual time signatures like 1/7 or 1/5, lots of sus chords and leftfield but they make it sound natural, hence why you think its simple.

2 BAD has 70 tracks in the mix.. I have the multitracks and its insane the amount of things going on at the same time, the trumpets, bass, beats, vocals... its seriously insane. Watch the videoclip, it has one of his best choreos

I think you don´t understand something about rnb in general: you complained about too many choruses, which was something extremely common in rnb and black music in general... when you listen to rnb tracks you are meant to focus on the adlibs at the end, not the chorus x 4... ahahha if you listened to the songs more times all those improvs become second nature, you sing the adlibs with him and dont even notice the choruses, that´s the goal in a way.... also most of those tracks are dance tracks, you are sitting down and not moving, so you are missing a lot on that respect too XDD

it took him 4 years to finish EARTH SONG, to me its his biggest song ever probably. For some reason which I cannot fathom, It wasnt a single in the usa, it was a massive hit around the globe.

they dont care about us was a hit in every country except the usa. Since the media hated him in the usa they focused on 2 lines of the song to make MJ seem racist or a bigot. Insane. It has another video apart from the brasi one, the PRISON version is very strong, I get goosebumps with that version. The brasil came out a bit later and it became more popular overall, its not harsh compared to the original.

If you want a good detailed break down about the whole "spirit" thing, I recommend you react to a video made by wendigoon about the true meaning of the black parade. It is truly an amazing theory and it all connects and the first time I saw that video, it changed my entire view on the album

When song writers get into something that the feel deserves to be a full length 10 minute recording, especially with Jesus of Suburbia and Homecoming they knew they would probably not be put on radio that much. It would suck if they cut it up just for the fucking radio. There are plenty of songs on the album that would run perfectly fine on the radio. Let the artists make songs how they want to make songs. It would be sad if an artist just wrote songs that they thought would be a good song on the radio, INSTEAD of what they want to write about. If a song is good, it's worth listening too for 10 minutes. Especially if it's written that way. One thing that annoys me is when bands or specifically individual draw out solo's to 10 minutes. In my mind, that's 10 minutes that could've been used on multiple songs, or at least one good song. And I'm sure many people have pointed out that the songs with the slashes in the middle denote two songs that are separate. If you went and saw Green Day live on any given night, you might hear those songs played with other songs. For years, they didn't really ever play Holiday and Boulevard of Broken Dreams together.

I remembered when the lame media called that album a flop. Well, look at how God works. People are listening to the album and loving it. Good. This album debuted at number one on the billboard charts and is the best selling double album ever. So, the media will always be in the wrong side of history.

Demolition Lovers is very synonymous to Rites of Spring's End on End, both are the last songs of their respective albums. There are also similarities with the song structure and feel with abrupt tempo changes and vocals on the verge of breakup

Guys! He doesn't feel it. There's not point to keep recommending radiohead, I knew it since he stopped 15 times Paranoid Android. Usually when you are more mental sort of type than sensorial or sensitive. You don' really get into Pink Floyd, Radiohead. If for him this is slow music, imagine him listening Sigur Ros, Massive Attack, Cigarrettes After Sex...anyway. it's good to get out from your comfort zone. Cheers for the content. 👍

I knew someone who had cancer, but they noticed too late and was stage 3, so they did decide to let it kill them. Also know someone else who had it and luckly caught it early and got treated and still alive. Also had a dog who had it, and the fact that i actually discovered it by a tumor in the mouth made it harder on me. Had to put her down right before vacation. I legit cried almost every day for months.

A theory I personally subscribe to, originally proposed by Windegoon, is that the story is told mostly out of order from two perspectives. The Patient and a spirit, we'll call him The Parader, watching it and both mocking the patient and reflecting. Hense The End and Dead are the Patient and the Parader both responding to the news of his diagnosis. A song that starts on harder more metal inspired chords and instruments are from The Parader's perspective and the more simple, often acoustic openings are The Patient's perspective. The exceptions are Teenagers and Mama, being the reverse, since they explain The Patient and Parader's origins respectively. The reversal on the songs that explain their back stories serves to highlight the similarities between both, young men who lost their lives unceremoniously and pointlessly from things out of their control.
