I plan on getting my pilots very soon and planning on then buying an S12. Maybe I should visit the Pi and getting some S12 traing/experience. I've been to the Pi twice so this would be a great reason to visit again.

S12 is a great plane,... sure. But I think with the R912 is a bit heavy / clumsy compared to how agile it is when its engine is a R582. I have piloted both and I can assure you. Another issue is maintenance times and other inconvenients of a 2-stroke engine. But to fly, with the R582 is better; sure.

Nice work sir. I fly an S12 in Chicago. Randy Schlitter suggested that the propeller gearbox be mounted downwards so the thrustline is more linear and doesnt pitch down that hard on take off. Happy flying😃

But most Rans S12 gearboxes are mounted upwards to provide for a larger diameter propeller for more efficiency and performance.

Yes! Takes about 15 min. You also need 2 support brackets on the trailer.

Hello me and my wife are moving to the us to the philippines and i have built and flew airplanes and gliders for many years can you tell me what is involved in geting a plane or kit shiped to the philippines and posibel price involved say for instance the s12 or a phantom.

Looks like an excellent instructor and student. As my instructor told me years ago, "Congrats! You've soloed, now the real learning begins." Soloing is an exciting, major first step though. Well done!
