I think there is a bit of Kelpie in there as well

Our kelpie has similar jobs to yours. First thing in the morning, my husband puts her special blanket on the bed and her job is to wake me up with slow motion wrestle/snuggles. Then she eats and guards the cat for about 90 minutes (he loves his catio but is scared to be in it alone). She also knows the name of every toy, and will go and indicate them on command, although she will not bring back anything but ball. We play ball shortly after lunch, and then it's time to check on the welfare of the lizards and smell flowers in the garden while we do yard work. When the teens get home, she takes them for a walk for their enrichment and tells us how much fun they had by running laps around the couch. If the cat does naughty things, she goes and tells him to stop. If the kids do naughty things she tells on them. She also made up multiple performance tricks (like spinning in a circle and tapping her feet) and will randomly put on entire dressage shows for us in exchange for treats. She was a rescue, we didn't even know what a Kelpie was when we got her. But I don't think I could ever have a non kelpie ever again after her!!!

I've owned KELPIES since my late father bought me one when I was just 5years old some 52years later this is the only breed of dog i will ever own sadly I lost my beautiful 11year old red Kelpie called dusty I found her passed away in her bed in April 2024 i now have a real character called Lady Bird shes black tan and white boundless energy she nips me on the bottom if I stand still to long that's her instinct this is the only Kelpie who is totally independent she won't stay inside the house at night Dede looks a cutie cheers Stephen from QLD Cobas 🤠🐨🦘🐴🐮

Hi, what a beauty Barney is ❤ We re homed a wonderful RR called Dexter at 11 months old. At the age of only 3 he was diagnosed with bone cancer in his leg. The vet said it was likely to have metastasised throughout his body so amputation was unlikely to work. We got a second and third opinion but all unfortunately agreed. We managed to keep him going with alternative treatments for a further 7 months and that was it. That was a year ago now and I am still welling up writing this. Dexter’s best friend was another RR called Forrest who was 70kg ! They played like lunatics and were a total joy to watch. We are due to get a new RR male puppy in 6 weeks from a top RR breeder in the hope that good health and a long life will ensue 🤞🏻🙏🏼 Forrest is waiting for his new best buddy ❤

I have 2 Rocco who is 121/2years and Cezar is 2.Now had 4 and they are the best smartest creatures. They are my Soul. I adore them and they adore me. They do what I ask of them but have lots of freedom to be themselves. Pity they don't live as long as humans

I discovered my dog shiva is Maremma through dogscan app. I knew that shiva,wasnt the local.mutt.. i adopted her from a dog rescue that saves dogs from southern Israel. Her vet studied in Italy and admitted after two years that ok yes she looks maremma.. She has only one foot with an extra toe. She looks so similar to the breed. She has epileptic seizures and is on medication. How common is that? Shiva is 2 and a half years old. I have had her since she was 2 months old. She is very protective and also calm. No one can believe how protective she can be since she seems sheep like most of the time..
