The first time I ever ate creek chub, we were in a bad situation. With enough side dishes to feed everyone, we had no protiens. I hunted up some worms and rigged a hand line. They truly are the sardinenof fresh water, butnhave a much cleaner flavor. After roasting a couple to sample the rest were added to the stew.
