I say that all these brave and strong women need to be registered for the military draft.. Just like all of us "privileged" men have to do on our 18th birthday..

I am beyond sick and tired of hearing about how brave and strong people are because of race and gender. I'm a white male and I have yet to experience any of the supposed privileges Im told that I have.. Its been the opposite frankly. I literally observe female privilege in may day to day life. Quite frequently I end up working twice as hard at my job because of all the females that can't lift more than 35 pounds. Yet we get paid the same amount hourly.. If I wasn't able to do everything that my job requires then I would be let go and replaced..

HMM works. I ran sub 2:59 then 2:54 on it. In my opinion, the mileage in the book is too low. The rest/off days are arbitrary and should be skipped. The pace tables are not correct. Follow Jack Daneiel's VDOT tables instead (but do these workouts). I also preferred to add "the simulator" workout 16 miles MP. But hey, at its core, HMM works! I even had Luke sign my book.

I have 4 pairs of shoes, and the best ones are Endorphin Speed 4`s… My calves are on fire with Novablast 3 and clifton 9 really early on the run, but with the Speed4`s, it`s easier for me to maintain a ”quicker” pace without the burning sensation, and my legs are less tired. They just fit my slow ass better 😃

Thanks for the video. Starting training at the end of May for my first marathon in October, and I am reading the Hanson book. I'm looking for a plan that works for me and this one seems interesting. Going to watch your other videos on this next!

This is common in longer runs marathons and ultra marathons. It’s difficult to control the muscles to prevent this. Plus it just looks like mud.

Ain't many of "us" out there brother. I been a runner for years & rarely seen black folks there, unless they're elite runners from Kenya or The Islands...even in a majority black city like Atlanta.

Don't forget the .1, we're gonna feel it, is facts. Don't let's anyone tell you different. I ran a mock trial run of the half a week ago and that's battle Hill at about mile 2 in Prospect Park seems to go over looked and underrated. Cheers to finishing!! My first half will be this Sunday

Thing is, streakfly is designed for 5-10k, while endorphin speed & vaporfly are designed for longer distances. Streakfly is literally a racing flat with extra foam. I’ve used it in track, and for XC. it is very versatile in shorter distances.

Newbie over weight runner here and for the first 5 months of my running journey I used Gaviota 5 as my sole running shoe. After getting some confidence and finally experiencing the difference in my “slow run” vs “fast runs”, I got some shoes meant for speed days (got myself a Mach 5). The difference is great. I felt lighter and psychologically primed to run faster. My first carbon plated shoe is on the way and hopefully I will enjoy running more because of it.

I cringed at her speech. It's a sign of deep cultural sickness that soiling oneself is considering _'empowering'_ in any way.

This is something that has bugged me, especially by those on Instagram when it comes to marathons. A mile is a mile. A marathon is a marathon. Those distances don't change. Whether you run these distances at a 4:30 pace or a 14:30 pace, it doesn't matter so long as you get to the start and finish line. And truthfully, the way I see it is that unless you were at the start line with me and unless you have witnessed my transformation and training over the last several months or several years, then you have zero room to criticize me. The people that have watched me and been with me are the ones that have room to talk as they can and will be constructive in their evaluations of me. They will tell me where my deficiencies are and where I excel at. But the strangers online who maybe have never even run a Marathon before have zero room to Monday Morning QB my life.

I know it sounds weird, but I do not wear a watch when I run. I don't want to be caught up staring at my watch and letting it dictate my run. I know I would.

I was introduced in my early 20’s to running backward doing various cuts and spins in order improve my agility on the football field. I forgot this skill until I coached youth soccer players to do the same, particularly gangly legged players whose legs had outgrown smooth motor function. These players had a hard time with changing direction and lateral movement. During that time, I was suffering from disruptive knee pain. I noticed that soon after running 40-yard sprints backward 10x a few times a week that pain in my knees disappeared. Now in my mid 70’s, I still incorporate running backwards uphill while doing various cuts and spins. I do this pain free, and my balance and mobility is still very good. The memories from carpet cleaning/water damage work and various taxing labor jobs that eventually caused pain are just that….memories.
