I've only been playing awk really. Some will say its hot dogshit now, but to me its *alright* . Some things to note: - Pre awak kit kinda scuffed with the hit reductions and the FPS changes made our skills slower (I dont get the anim speed boost from being 240+ fps anymore) so gaps between lunacy and wheel are easier to get CC'd in especially when you're slowed - Tougher time killing 360 shield classes and zerker - Low cap T1 damage is scuffed, if you're not an awak loyalist (and even then) I wouldnt recommend running it here - PvE is fine - Dmg against non-DR Tank classes is fine I havent touched succ at all for this patch, but from what I've seen and heard its doing better than awk.

Succ or Awk? Either way, I fight both specs the same way I did previously except now that they're nonsensically tanky in most pvp content you have to pressure harder when they're trying to turtle and heal. If you're fighting a zerker that is completely unkillable unless you full combo more than 3+ times I'd find a new target/only hit him with a friend or backoff. It is what it is now, hopefully they adjust them and valks. BOTH: - Drop as many slows as possible on them. - They have access to like 4 different grabs so theres little point to mentally timing the CD of the grapples unlike other matchups, just play as if they always have a grapple off CD...because they probably do. - *AVOID GETTING SLOWED YOU'RE MUCH EASIER TO GRAB WHEN YOU'RE SLOW* . If you do get slowed for more than 5% just run away until its off. - Go for short FG dmg trades into any SAs they throw out. - Go for CCs when they're using their pre-engage buffing in neutral - Use FG lingers (slanted) and SA lingers (Nocturne W) to bait them to come in for a grapple. Dusk it and then use a fast CC like unveiled dagger to catch them in the whiff animation of the grapple. 5:01 - With that said, dont stand next to either one of them for longer than 2-3 seconds without an or escape tool ready to go. - Learn the different animations between their heals, if they're trying to heal with [Beast Roar] drop dmg, if they're healing with [Wrath of the beast] or [Ire of the beast] go for back attack CC because they're FGs - Try not to overextend your combos for bonus DMG unless you're trying to bait a wake-up grapple and you're ready for it. - Be mindful of their increased chance to resist CCs when they're class buffed (Beast form and Titan Syndrome), I've died many times off them resisting a 2nd CC because of the bonus resist from their class buff when I wasn't paying attention to the IMMUNE text popup. SUCC: - Dont commit to anything you cant cancel out of quickly unless you have a hard read - If you have a hard read on [Weakling Hunt] use a 360 SA CC like wheel or lunacy - Try not to blast your stamina to get *extra distance* away from them, because they're perfectly capable of running after you indefinitely - Some succ zerks might use [Tackling Rock] when they try and disengage, its an FG so you could Seed, Shadow bullet, or Core Shatter them in the back as they shoulder charge away - With them being a succ class, their rotation is relatively simple to predict and you should be able to play accordingly. Once they run in and explode, scream, and/or spin they'll most likely disengage or try to run around and go for a grab or some FG CC ability like [Beastly Wind Slash] , [Succession: Weakling Hunt], or [Tackling Rock]. The counterplay for those options is pretty self-explanatory but can still be annoying. AWK: - Becareful casting SAs when they have [Devastation] or [Earth Divide] off CD (Its like a 10 second or so CD) if they clip you with either one of those its time to run away for the next 10 seconds, and they'll have it ready for you again when you have it off. - Most of their biggest dmg abilities are FGs (Ancient Power/Wave and Seismic Blast) so they present openings for you against less cautious awk zerks. You can use 90 degree airstrikes (the float) to minimize the amount of time they have to react to your CC attempt, otherwise nocturne flow dark execution CC (Nocturne + D) and 180 degree (the bound) airstrikes will suffice. Be aware though that legitimately good awk zerkers might be able to read these attempts and spin these moves to their backs on read, so it can become a mind-game. - Majority will be running [Core:Titan blow] which makes it an FG, otherwise it might be something like [Core: Ground Lift] which makes that move an SA (Anyone that actually mains zerk reading is free to suggest what the other likelier core would be) - If the awk zerk player is a turbo coward they can play at max range with their cannon abilities which *will* out-range you. At this point you can either choose to carefully maneuver up to them or stand out of range waiting for them to drop out of holding [Ancient Power], the longer they hold it waiting for you to approach the more stam they lose to kite you with. - If they click-to-move [Lava piercer] infront of you they're gonna try to either go for a grapple or go into [Giant's Leap]. You can either go for the counterplay if you have a read on an option or just trade some burst movement like airstrike to disengage out of the situation Now all of that being said, they still have ridiculous potential to escape out of render from you if they're firmly dedicated to FLEEING the fight and/or going to heal. All of the above is assuming they're trying to engage with you at some level.

I peaked at around 1950 on NA last season(also the only awk dk on NA to ever hit twilight spear), I know a guy that hit 2250 last season in EU aswell. Its definetly more effort than its worth, especially with succ dk being 5x better in the mode but it is do-able. You have to *really* play for CCs and debuffs because even with full rbf build awk dk does paltry chip dmg to *most* targets while standing in solare. I recommend using shatter core for the stiffen combo starter and extra cc potential with the drawback of no SA on seed. But at the end of the day its gonna come down to a mix of luck and team comps to climb past red, because awk doesnt have the hard carry potential of succ. I’ve had enough people ask me about solare in-game,disc, and here I might make an actual AoS guide. Since the interest is there with little detailed information for awk floating on here.

@@OverlordDurash the guide may feel pointless because AWK dk is just so disadvantaged when it comes to damage- i feel like I'm essentially a wet, slippery noodle that kites grabs half of the game or maegu/bongo stuns the other half...but that said...awk dk is simply more fun for me and I'll be wood rank before I swap. The guide may help me climb to the top of wood though!
