OMG, you have not even done your homework on what that figure is! 🤦‍♀️ She was a symbol of fertility, not a beauty standard and especially not an accurate representation of what women looked like. People back then needed to be able to run, to climb trees, to produce their livelihoods with their bare hands, and yes, to physically fight others come to take away the spoils of the hunt. Does she look like she would have been able to do any of that? The only way she would have survived would have been to be towed by the rest of the tribe on a stretcher. Also, when you have that much fat on your body, you can’t tell the hip to waist ratio because you cannot possibly see any of her bones.

Yes, that is true! It does make her face more sharply defined than if she had not touched her face. However, even before all the plastic surgery, their faces still looked different. Additionally, because of the buccal fat removal surgery, the 'sinking' will only get worse. I don’t recommend this surgery for beautiful long-term aging.

Hey, zou u een kinfiller aanraden bij iemand met een rond gezicht, MAAR ook veel vocht vast houdt thv de wangen, kaak?
@DrKimDetollenaere
@DrKimDetollenaere 2 ай бұрын
Hallo!

Hi everyone, I encountered quite a few issues while making this video, and by the time I finally managed to film it, I was a bit under the weather, which might explain why I look a bit puffy and sound more nasally than usual. Nonetheless, I hope you find this video informative, and I hope it helps us all steer clear of the dreaded 'fish lips' or 'duck lips'. ;) Remember, the best lip enhancements are the ones that suit your face, and choosing the right doctor is the first step towards that!

Gisele Bündchen is not oblong she has diamond Face shape oblong have no cheekbones
@DrKimDetollenaere
@DrKimDetollenaere 4 ай бұрын
I classified Gisele Bündchen as oblong because she has a face that is longer than what is considered 'ideal'. Sometimes, the categorization of face shapes can be a bit subjective, and I understand the categorization into a diamond face shape. However, since the length of her face is so distinctive, I would personally categorize her as oblong, although she is a bit more of a mix than the other examples.

I would like to emphasize something: many people do not have purely one face shape but can sometimes have a mix of different shapes. I think I myself am more of a mix between round and square. 😉 A personalized consultation and treatment plan are essential, and this video serves more as a guideline. It is important to remember that the information in this video cannot simply be copied to your own face and is primarily intended for informational purposes. Much love, Dr. Kim Detollenaere ♥

TL/DR ENG: What service do you perform? Just curious since you're doing 24h shift. Also, don't you get any comments about filming in the hospital Op welke dienst sta je?

The ideal width of the chin for men is 1.618 times the intercanthal distance (distance between the inner corners of the eyes), while for women, the ideal chin width is equal to the intercanthal distance (=1). I made a mistake while editing the video.

I loved this video! I think people are so used to seeing “good looking” people nowadays. And even though those people are most likely wearing a lot of makeup or are edited, it can still affect people’s perceptions of themselves.

Yes, it is often referred to as the 'hyperinflation of beauty.' It is important to become aware that what we see is often not entirely real. However, I firmly believe that whatever we consume on a daily basis will inevitably impact our brains and how we perceive ourselves, others, and the world. Therefore, it is crucial that we approach social media content consciously and selectively choose what we engage with.

I am not sure how relatable my perspective is since I have turner syndrome so I do look different from the general population but for me social media tends to make me insecure because it makes me reflect to much on my body or gives the impression that my life would be better if I looked normal which is very upsetting since this does make me want to change my self and that it would be easier to change my self then it would be
@DrKimDetollenaere
@DrKimDetollenaere Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. 🙁 Be mindful of what content you consume on social media on a regular basis, as the algorithm picks up on it and shows you more of it as a result. 📱 There is a lot of content on social media that can potentially uplift, inspire, and educate you, and not bring you down. I suggest you find content like that. Social media is often seen as a negative thing, but I do believe that the content being pushed by the algorithm is the type that makes people insecure or triggers them in a negative way. Let's choose content that nourishes our well-being. ✨

Thank you for sharing your struggles with body dysmorphia. It's evident that this condition is causing significant distress in your life. As a medical doctor, I highly recommend seeking professional help for your body dysmorphia. Connecting with a mental health professional experienced in treating body dysmorphic disorder can provide you with the appropriate guidance and support to manage your symptoms effectively. I encourage you to reach out to mental health resources in your local area or seek recommendations from trusted healthcare professionals in your country. They will be better equipped to provide specific guidance and help you find the right support system. Remember, you don't have to face this alone, and there are effective treatment options available. My experience is that BDD is a PERCEPTION disorder. It is NOT just being obsessed with "body image". When I looked in the mirror, I saw a MONSTER. At age 35, I decided not to look in the mirror anymore because logically I knew I hadn't sent anybody screaming from the room so maybe what I was seeing, perceiving, wasn't real. I believe MJ had BDD, but what I just heard from these other celebrities is just self-absorption about not meeting the current face and body standards in hollywood. These people are not seeing a monster in their reflection. At best, they sound like they're anxious. Fox's comment about loving herself proves my point. You want to love yourself? Then SERVE others and you'll be amazed how those people will love you and that will increase your "self love". I'm approaching 60 and I can't believe this is what they're calling BDD! Not being satisfied that you're not perfectly beautiful enough is the very definition of vanity. Seeing a lizard in your reflection is a DISTORTION, a PERCEPTION, problem not a problem with vanity.
@DrKimDetollenaere
@DrKimDetollenaere Жыл бұрын
I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). It's a complex and often misunderstood condition, and I appreciate your perspective. Yes, there's speculation that celebrities such as Michael Jackson might have suffered from a severe form of BDD. When celebrities like Lili Reinhart open up about their struggles with body dysmorphia, it's important to give them the benefit of the doubt. We should remember that they might not reveal their deepest thoughts and feelings to the public. As a medical professional, I'm cautious about making such diagnoses based solely on media snippets and interviews. It's only their healthcare provider, who knows their history and has had extensive interactions with them, who can make an accurate diagnosis. Furthermore, mental health conditions like BDD exist on a spectrum-ranging from mild to severe. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) lays out specific criteria for diagnosing such conditions. If a person meets these criteria and their daily life is affected-whether it be their social interactions, work, or otherwise-they can be diagnosed with the mental health disorder. However, symptoms can vary significantly in severity. The human mind is complex, and we can never truly know what someone else is thinking or feeling, especially when they're under the public eye like celebrities. Thus, it's crucial not to rush to conclusions based on limited information. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences on this matter. It's important to keep this dialogue open for a better understanding of conditions like BDD.

To clarify, the groundwork for the aerobics movement began in the 70s, but the peak of the aerobics craze, complete with energetic workout videos and distinctive fitness fashion, was in the 80s. It's key to note that trends didn't neatly start and end with each decade, with overlaps often present. For instance, the 90s saw both the heroin chic trend and the supermodel era, which started in the 80s. However, these timelines serve mostly as a guide and the main point of this video is not the precise timing, but the ever-changing nature of 'ideal bodies.' By showcasing the evolution of these ideals, I aim to underline that beauty is diverse and constantly evolving.

How does anatomical pathology differ from other pathology specialties?
@DrKimDetollenaere
@DrKimDetollenaere Жыл бұрын
Anatomical pathology is a type of medical specialty where doctors examine tissues from your body to figure out if you have a disease. They use special techniques like looking at the tissues under a microscope to see what they look like and to identify any changes that could mean you have a disease. This is different from other types of pathology where doctors might look at your blood or other bodily fluids, or analyze your genes to figure out what's going on with your health. Hope it is clear now :)
