I am going to do this mod to my 350b as shown. If a 350b owner that uses the dozer a lot, and is worried about wear on the lever shaft, a block of nylon or delrin, cut to the same detent profile, and standing maybe 1/16" proud of the angle could be added to eliminate the wear problem.

I found this video when searching for what the serrated side was for. Right now they are on clearance at HF for $5. It's really impressive for a small HF wrench. You're right, having one of these in the trunk is a great idea. Think I'll get a couple more just for that purpose. Thanks

You are SO lucky to have the earlier pin! My 350B has the later pins that are pressed in. I found that using a "C" shaped 1/8" wedge washer or shim in the gaps between tge outer and inner link sides helos prevent the outer link sides from binding up on the pin. I use a 20 tom Harbor Freight low profile jack attachment on my portapower to push the pin out 3/8" at a time, a pain in the ass for sure, but it works. The later press-in pins have a smaller diameter in the center where the link bushing runs, so it is only difficult where the larger diameter pin ends push through the outer link sides.

OK, those pain in the ass sleeves for the draw bar arc are an idiotic attempt at combining locating dowel pins and retaining bolts that fail miserably. If you have a lathe, you could make shoulder bolts , threaded into the casting to take their place. Several of minw have bolts broken off in the pins, and because I don't use the draw bar dor anything other than dragging trees, I did not mess with them.

I had these magnets available to me already, and each face is a pole so I can direct the magnetism accordingly. If I used a bar magnet I'd have to support it vertically.

I have the same truck and it say for awhile and recently pulled it out and steering was super loose and inpredictable. Took a look and rag was all tore up and the hardware was gone on one side of the 2 bolts going from truck to rag and the other one was loose. Scary.... I appreciate the thorough video. I pulled mine and it wouldnt telescope. Isnt that the point of this shaft? So if the body flexes and moved it wont be pulling on thr rag joint?

Hello again themadmailer, I am trying to see reversing the linkages so it will be on the inside like you said I am wondering if that would cause stepping on the gas to be backwards, lol. I know I will have to see that when I get back to Oregon in a couple weeks. Thanks for the replay

Hello, i am sorry to post this off subject. I commented on your last year video about your 1965 case backhoe where you fixed your hydraulic cylinder. Here us the question i asked.- Hello themadmailer, i have a 1960 case 540, my books say a 530 is diesel and a gas one is a 540, maybe thats the way they did it in 1960. Anyway i had to put another engine in it and i have two carburetors and they both are backwards. I mean if i put one on to where the carb will plug into the air breather, toward the front of tractor, then the throtle is on the outside so will not hook up to the governor linkage. Do you or would you show how yours is hooked up? Thank you
@themadmailler
@themadmailler 4 ай бұрын
I don't have mine any more. But I replaced a carb in my 350 a while ago and the linkage was backwards I think, but you can remove all the parts and put it on the other side.

The "guards" are superfluous and ineffective. You are kidding yourselves about safetly. Ours HAD no guards. (And it should have) Dad built ours, had a table on rollers, which made it all instantly mobile. There was nothing of the saw equipment anywhere near the ground. I was maybe 11-12 when first drafted into service "throwing away" the cut wood ---into a pickup or trailer. Ours was a rubber tired 24-28 Farmall regular, which we bought from my great uncles. Late '50's through the 60;s, I am now 75

In the thumbnail, on the right side of the image, next to where your left foot would go, there is a curved small lever that sets between the two steering clutch levers. What is that thing for? I think it controls something to do with the transmission, but can’t figure it out.

I am so so happy you posted this video. I bought a log cabin and it was sloping in one corner ( where they had installed the bathroom with a 40 gallon water heater or) so I think it has the same issue likes your cabin with the stove. We now came back after the third winter and it seems to have sunken again in this corner. So I will now try to gather all my courage and tackle this , step by step as you did this 😱😱 Oh one question, where could I borrow the jacks ? Thanks

I need to know how to bench test that voltage regulator .. I'm assuming if you put 12-volt on the ignition lug you should be able to measure output on the other lug provided the casing is grounded but I need the value that I should be looking for thanks BC
