もっと慎重にとか、もっと丁寧にとか、批判している方がいらっしゃるけど考えが浅すぎる。 彼女の壮大で荘厳な、時に畏敬の念を思わせるような怒涛の荒々しさを感じさせるこの解釈が意図していないものな訳がない。 彼女は心からこの音楽をあのように感じ、音という媒体を通して自分のイメージを表現したのではないでしょうか。 ミスタッチとか暗譜を忘れたとか本当にどうでもいい。 彼女の演奏には自分の音楽がある。 それが何よりも本当に素晴らしい事だと思います。

Je suis de bonne composition, mais comprenez que votre ton, dans ce post, légèrement agressif et suffisant est assez insupportable, on peut dire les choses plus aimablement. Would it not have been better, one wonders, if she had played a little more carefully and slowly thereby hitting more of the right notes and not missing out large sections. Her style (in every sense) was also deplorable.

I agree. Most people play this way too fast. I wonder why whether it's a difficult piece to play slowly as I am learning it and like to play it reflectively.

Those falls are very old-style, love it. Seriously though, this take is both extremely interesting and not overly romanticised. You get to hear an actual fugue and enjoy it as such. So tasteful and meticulous!

I don’t know how specific the marking are on the written page, but the piece seems so wild no matter who’s playing it, this interpretation seems as be good as any.

Actually it’s written nothing, no forte no piano just notes, it definitely can be interpreted very melodic and beautiful, but still, to my taste, it’s hardly a melodic song, but it can definitely have some lightness, which I think misses in this interpretation, he struggled quite a bit, he was not well prepared, but again he won big competitions so he must be best, Who am i to judge.

Yvonne Lefébure is new to me. Her playing Bach's Great A Minor Prelude & Fugue was spectacular! The Fugue was breadthtaking and at the end her playing gave me goosebumps! - and I'm an organist. She brought out all the drama inherent in the music, something you rarely hear, ever! She is absolutely fantastic! More... More.... More.... !!!!

This young man is a very fine pianist and I have enjoyed some of his other work very much, however this is not good; the music is not shaped properly, there is little understanding of Scarlatti’s unique Baroque idiom (perhaps accounted for by his Russian musical education), and the indefensible and unmusical decision to repeat the first half of a binary form sonata but not the second half is utterly bewildering - it is as if one got up half way through a play and walked out.
