I'd just try Fedduccia catching . He handled Stone like a plum the other day. I think you have to give Fedduccia a chance for a month and rest Smith.

Smith is fantastic but he is definitely NOT a great defensive catcher. He has an arm and can throw runners out though. He's improving . Less balls are bouncing off and past him. And he's trying to improve his handling of the pitching staff and keeping the team ERA lower. There he's a little weaker though. I believe with a month off relatively he'll be able to gather himself and recharge his batteries so to speak.

It's not Dalton Rushing. We have 2 catchers on our 40 man roster who are on Dodgers AAA, namely Diego Cartaya and Hunter Feduccia.

Yeah. Ideally Smith should be playing first base while Freddie is healing ! And Fedduccia behind the plate through september. That's ideal!

There are no ISSUES with Smith. The reason his offense is off revolves around him concentrating on his defense more to improve it . He's trying to work on handling pitchers and calling pitches and locations better. He's still weak in those areas. But he's trying to upgrade more. He has too. But he still has alot to work on. And it's affecting him offensively. He's not as focused on hitting and taking walks so his numbers have fallen. The smart thing to do would be to start Fedduccia everyday because Will needs recalibrate and rest up to go full blast in the playoffs. That's probably the ONLY MOVE that is optimal.

Don't think that the Dodgers get Yamamoto and Will Smith to the End of thier Contracts with them still on the Dodgers!! Both Contracts will be moved at some point 👉 before the end of those deals!!! Don't sign decade long deals!!

Why is anyone surprised? Every year, at around the AS break, Smith basically wears down and offensively, he falls off a cliff. This season, I expected it to be more severe because he wouldn't get additional "breaks" by being the DH. The concerning thing is, he doesn't rebound once his second half slump hits.

As a catcher he rests 25% of the season. The remaining 75% of the season, he is hitting around .200 the past 4 months. That is bad if he is penciled in as the guy batting after the 3 MVPs because his .200 batting average and .350 slugging % is not a threat. What is his ceiling? Are we expecting him to be like his first two seasons, slugging % over .550? Or someone like the past two years, slugging % around .430? If he is penciled in 7th-9th then he is fine.

Will Smith is our #1 catcher. He knows where his hitting is, and without a doubt, wants to start seeing the ball and making contact again. With Barnes hurt, we just need to keep Will healthy and not do anything crazy. G0 Will, Go Blue, Go Dodgers!

Smith will be the catcher....period. However, given his struggles at the plate, he has NO business batting clean-up. His number keeps coming up in key situations, and its killing us. Of course, the moron that is our manager doesn't seem to have any flexibility relative to the current state of his players. We will see the same movie play out yet again. The ONLY silver lining is that once we get bounced yet again, with this team no less, it should be the final straw that breaks this bozo's back and they are forced to fire him. #FireRobertsnow

I said it when we cut Hayward, and it will come back to bite the dodgers. CT3 is not an MLB player, and just like we praise the front office for good moves, let's talk about the bad ones. CT3 contract is a big one. Letting guys like JT , Hayward, or seager go . But keep barnes and CT3 who have zero clutch in them these days .

AS FOR HEYWARD HE WAS A GOOD PERSON TO HAVE ON YHE TEAM I THINK GOMEZ SHOULD STEP IN AND HELPWETH SOME WHO GOES AND WHO STAYES. i CANT WAIT TILL ROBERTS IS GONE AND WE HAVE A MANGER THAT KNOWS HOW TO MANAGE A TEAM

If you can't hit the right shot at the right time, you can sacrifice! If it's a strikeout, you can still give it up if it's a swinging strike instead of a missed one. That's what the Dodgers are missing now.

Dodgers not in the same league as dbacks and padres. The reason: Dave Roberts. Lovullo and Schildt create and motivate. Ohtani too busy going for personal hardware to talk to team as he did to Japan. He doesnt realize it is the only hope for dodgers.

2 runs is mediocre baseball. Our pitching staff would fair better if offense did not strike out so much and swung for the fences ALL the time. 2 runs is pathetic. In the playoffs, forget it. The next 6 games will be proof Roberts needs to go. Not fair to pitching staff to be so complacent offensively playing with zero creativity.

The umpire's calls were questionable. The Orioles pitcher was given a strike on a ball that was too low, and the calls were mostly in favor of the Orioles. Why doesn't MLB use robots when there are so many bad calls?
