Whats the best audio mode settings and volume by using the built in microphone? Theres always a noticeable hiss in the back ground particularly in a quiet area. It picks up road noise really easily in 5.1 channels, much louder than the road noise actually is.

Great track plan and nicely executed. The single slip makes it all work. I think your reversing points on the through lanes should be the other way round as you would not drive onto a priority track going the wrong way but would stop on your track and "reverse" onto the other track so that you could keep going in the intended direction.

My first introduction to Cowerbridge Junction. Looks good. Would have liked to have seen a slow pan around the layout as you explained what was going on rather than cutting between scenes as i got lost as to where on the layout we were. As a first introduction I would have liked a schematic so I'm off to see what other videos you have.

The features of your layout are amazing. I like the end of an era branchline junction feel to the scenics. But even more impressive is the thought gone into how to make the layout work for more than one train per running line. One Question, Are the cassettes able to be used from either end ? With the 'hand of god' you can turn the cassette instead of reversing the train out. When it comes to videoing I suggest you use a sheet backdrop, a simple screen or lace curtain to partly hide things like the cassette area and over behind the town scene. Also the level of your platforms looks high and could be cut down by two brick rows... There are a more details that could enhance the effect you are looking for when filming or presenting the layout. A girder bridge over the "tunnel" under the town with a skewer fence on top stop the kids from falling onto the tracks. Some additional detail to Percy's Tunnel ? "Skewer Fence", Wooden skewer cut to length with mesh clear glued to the poles. "Girder", strip of plasticard for the flat surface. Cut thin strips to make top, bottom and joining plates. "Inner Tunnel molds" Use paper brick over paper to make a tunnel lining and mold to shape. (remember to have the brick rows running from one side of the tunnel to the other) In "Percy's tunnel" make the lining as deep as possible. Potentially as deep as one coach. Then paint a dark back scene behind the track where the trains curve into the fiddle yard. You may also want to include disused postal collection points at your station on both platforms. The older type where fixed near the end of the platforms. It could be a feature at the station end of platform 2-3 giving access to both the main and the branchline. The collection point would be on the approach side of the main line on the station building side. Access to platform 2-3 should be tunnelled walkway. Dig a small hole in each platform near the end of the platform. Fence, cover and paint plasticard straight sides with curved roof. The disused Ash pit/Inspection pit is a nice touch outside the shed. This is a very useable, clever layout that looks good.

Thanks for watching! Alot of thought went into how I can make the most of the layout with the space constraints, but still keep the layout looking busy by swapping trains over. Yes the cassettes are reversible, I simply spin them round my man handling them carefully!! There are plenty of things to add, and as we speak working on the girders for the town scene tunnel!! Percys bridge will most likely be the next thing that I tackle yes, I should be throwing some ballast over it this week in fact. The platforms look too high but are actually about the right height by some miracle! Although they are glued in now, they are still somewhat "temporary" untill I can come up with a better and easy solution to making curved platforms. That was why I used polystyrene sheet, easy to cut and shape to fit the spaces it needed to.
@georgethomas7814
@georgethomas7814 29 күн бұрын
@@NathanielKempson Thanks for the reply...... and yes it must be hard to get curved platforms looking right. If you are happy with polystyrene sheet then thats fine. You could try a sandpaper top and again paint to grey for concrete or black for tarmac. I would check the current height looking at the video the platform comes up above the doors. OO scale is 12mm .

I had trouble with the audio yeah, not used to my new camera just yet. I didnt want it to be too loud so made it quieter so I didnt hurt anyones ears! Layout looks great. Quick question-how did you attach the peco bridge sides onto your structure. I am just about to install 4 adjoining bridge pieces and im trying to figure out the best way and your layout is the first ive seen with a similar setup to mine. Any assistance would be helpful.
@NathanielKempson
@NathanielKempson 2 жыл бұрын
I cheated. I literally glued some 3mm plywood strips to the underside of the "bridge deck" and clip the bridge sides on XD Slightly loose fit so untill I weather them up and glue them on they keep falling off. I did that for all the other girder sides aswell. dab of glue at each end should keep them in place permanant though. The ply fits neatly into the little groove that runs the whole length of the girder. its where the bridge deck is supposed to be if you were building the bridge properly, unlike me

I’d sell the barn. It isn’t usable in its state. The house will do until you have the funds to upgrade. I’d sell both silage and hay bales. Your ways off from animals I’d think anyways and getting money should be your primary goal right. Good job on your first video. I hope to get into this one day myself.

What I don't understand with the new 2MT is the valve gear animation. The radius rod motion should be governed mainly by the rocking expansion link, but it seems to move independently of the link entirely. The rod moves back and forth, yes, but by what means? I don't know, but something doesn't seem right. Do you see it?
@NathanielKempson
@NathanielKempson 2 жыл бұрын
I did pick up on it while editing this video yeah. I thought it looked "too waggly". But didnt question it too much, as im never sure if its the game lagging or not.
@tagsdm
@tagsdm 2 жыл бұрын
@@NathanielKempson Yes, waggly is a good word. It's definitely not the game. The radius rod seems to be controlled by the valve and not the rocking expansion link. Rather a shame after all the hope and anticipation of this loco, that a detail like this got out. It makes the Ivatt a "20 footer" (looks OK from 20' or more). I've posted this concern on the SSS FB page as well. We shall see...
