Mukavan pehmeä ääni kitarassa ja hyvä paikka soittaa. Aamukahvilla miellyttävää kuunnella.

Outstanding. Such a wonderful surprise! Can I ask you 2 things? These 19th century guitars have the same e minor tuning as the modern ones? What strings do you use? Thank you
@PatrikKleemola13 күн бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the scordatura is the standard EADGBE, but it's tuned down about half step (A=415Hz). I used here Ambra 800 by Aguila.

Thanks, Dave! Rautavaara also wrote a Monologues of the Unicorn and Partita, of which the last one is composer's version for guitar of an original piano piece. However the Serenades is deservingly the most performed guitar piece of his.

Hi Patrik would you describe this as an arpeggio studio rather than a voice balancing study like Op.35 no.17 and 22?
@PatrikKleemolaАй бұрын
Hi, the arpeggio is so simple here, so the focus lies elsewhere. The rhythm is also very static. The challenge is more in the fluent movements of the left hand and listening well the harmony: which harmony change needs more time and when it's time move forward. Those are my quick thoughts today.

We all played Sor on standard classical guitars. They sounded just fine--until you heard them played correctly on a period instrument. I don't know that I've heard better than this. Bravo as well for being one of the rare few who can keep a tempo.

Patrik: I posted a comment a few weeks ago regarding one of your other films of a Carcassi study. Trust me, you performances of these and this one....are just THE best. :) I watched this film closely......do you play without nails or are they very short ? All the best. Antoine

Thank you for compliments, Antoine! My nails are quite average, not particularly short.

Nice interpretation, although it seems that the sound is very bright, whereas those guitars had a natural deep and mellow tone. Is it because you probably use the nails?
@PatrikKleemola2 ай бұрын
Thanks! It might have something to do with nails, but this instrument itself has a sort of bright, "young" sound to it!

Everything about this video screams early 1800s. the setting, the guitar, the slightly darker tuning just beautiful. As for your playing it is masterfully played yet kept very traditional. Maestro Sor himself would be proud. Bravo!!!

Very easy?) I can’t play this exercise
@PatrikKleemola2 ай бұрын
No, it's not very easy... Sor was famously criticized during his lifetime for writing too difficult pieces for "beginners". The pieces he wrote are very beautiful, but it's better first to work on some easier material like Carulli or Carcassi who written more simple pieces. From Sor I would start with Op. 60 and then Op. 44, and then the rest.
