This has brought back memories. I worked with Jo for a number of years in the 1970s in North London. I remember being somewhat in awe of her and learnt a lot from her great knowledge and experience. She was a warm, all-embracing personality, witty and brave enough to hold and express views which struck me, an impressionable young man, as being bold and challenging. I was lucky enough to experience some of her work at first hand and while in progress. I was keen to grasp and understand the box aspect but cannot say that I ever did.

This can’t be a coincidence! It wasn’t but few days ago give or take learned who Ahmad Al-Buni was and the book Shams Al-Ma’arif “which intrigued me a lot”!
