Thank you for the video 😊 Would you recommend a course like the Google academy certificate in data analysis? Thank you 😊 You did mention it in your video but they don't cover python and your recommendations Is it still relevant as a start?

Great video, but you forgot the most important skill, Math, Algebra, Statistics, maybe some calculus too. I’ve been doing Data Analysis and Data Science in the Investment Banking field for a while now, I see a lot of people try and learn these tools you mentioned but can’t solve the simplest of problems, simply because they don’t have a mathematical foundation. It’s more important to know what to do than to know exactly how to do it. Now obviously I’m not saying the skills you mentioned aren’t important, they definitely are. However, if the foundation on which these skills are built on is week, it’s gonna crumble down real quick

Data analysis is so easy. Most people can learn the required skills in a couple of months. Then all you need to do is a sql boot camp to learn enough to pass an interview. There are so many jobs in this field that you will have no difficulty getting interviews and then just pick the one that pays the most. Don’t waste time and money on a degree. Financial institutions and other quality employers don’t need anything like this if you are sufficiently skilled.

Man, this hits close to home for me. Back in elementary school, whenever we had free time in class, I would always make doodles in a small notebook I had. I used to draw stick figures until it evolved into somewhat a human figure. Most of the time, I would make comics in that notebook, that I had showed to some friends of mine, which they gave positive feedback about, so I drew more comics. One day in art class, the art teacher wanted us to make art with a prompt I forgot of. I was excited to draw on that day, make my art stand out from the rest and be proud of it. I remember spending 1-2 days working on the drawing and when I was finished, I submitted to the teacher. The next day rolled around after I had submitted my art and the art teacher did not look happy. He had said that all of our art was garbage and horrible to look at. To make things worse, he had taken all of our art pieces that we handed in and either ripped them to shreds in front of us or kept it to trash later. He had come across my art, criticized it for its look, said it was stupid, and torn it into pieces. I was devastated at his response and just laid my head down on the desk and started to bawl my eyes out, crying. The art teacher didn't care of my reaction and just moved on. That tragic day, I had developed to a toxic mindset that I will never be good at art and that all my doodles I made are all garbage. After that tragedy, the next day happened at the art teacher was just...back to normal and acted like yesterday never happened. He had given me another sheet of paper to start working again but I didn't, I just had my head down and did nothing until the period ended. I didn't want to draw and color stuff anymore after that. I was completely emotionless. Good thing was that I still was doing little doodles and comics in my notebook but I never showed it to anyone because I was scared of criticism and harsh judgement being thrown at me and I still had that toxic mindset with me.

Excel will be more user friendly for people with less xp but you will still need a general understanding. Help is great but without understanding you can’t see where the help has gone wrong and trust me anything AI related right now has the potential to do odd things (hallucinate etc)

Do u mean we can't access a full course on data analysis but to gather skill sets independently and submit them for job application???
@UnorthodoxChange
@UnorthodoxChange 9 күн бұрын
You can access a full course and this may actually be helpful as it provides all the resources in one place. Skillsets should ideally be gathered individually and when possible utilised together so that during initially learning phase you are not overwhelmed and during project creation stage you get a full understanding of how different data tools and languages work together. Hope this helps.

Thank you so very much for the great video! Starting a new career in most fields can be overwhelming. The uncertainty of where to start, what to learn, what tools one can use to practice, leads to frustration with no sense of direction. Your honest break down of what to learn, how to learn it to actually get a job in the field is one of the best explanations I have come across. This is information is very helpful. Thanks again!

@UnorthodoxChange
@UnorthodoxChange 28 күн бұрын
You don’t need to be a pro at python as most beginner and mid roles don’t require you to know Python. It’s really just a bonus but a good one as you develop. If you’re currently getting interviews then it shows your application already meets the mark you just need to focus on the best way to convey yourself as knowledgeable (savvy with essential DA tools and languages) but still willing to learn more alongside applying feedback provided on your previous interviews. Hope this helps.
