I have never used any real colors from AK Interactive. I have been somewhat skeptical until I watched this video. I have this same set of paints (Russian Modern AFV) and now that I have watched you use these paints and using Tamiya lacquer thinner with the retarder, I will give it a try. Anything you could suggest when using these paints and thinner would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

What a joy to watch someone with actual technical know-how approach a model the right way! Beautiful job accenting the slabs of armor, the welds and the flame-cut edges man!

I'd love to see you bring your skills to bear on a dreadnought from warhammer, a big walking tank with a mostly dead space marine hero interred inside for centuries has lots of potential for weathering tricks and designs

You painted my favourite legion in a golden demon worthy model. Beautiful work! Now if you were able to paint the primarch himself with his personal gunship it would be a dream

Beautiful build of what is essentially just a big block of plastic like most of GW's stuff (unfortunately, beut they dieal everything up to 11). One thing that struck me while watching, instead of scribing the cut marks on the side on the armor plates, could that be done with a dremel? I'm totally onboard with the ww2 look and handling of WH40k vehicles, but scribing those marks would be a pita. That said, might have to pick one of those tanks up - for all their toy-ness, the actual quality of the kits are incredibly good.

That's a very Maize-y Cold Yellow. Imperial Fist Yellow should be much warmer. I'm not sure if Such a warm yellow would age in this manner.

This is the best Warhammer tank I've ever seen. I LOVE the welds, marks from plasma cutter and the texture on the turret is so damn good! This gets 5/5 Imperial Fist bumps ✊✊✊✊✊!

This looks excellent. Also, In warhammer 100 years old isn't that surprising, Especially for Space Marine war gear. The tank you used specifically in modern 40k wouldn't be 100 years old, or a 1000 years old, That tank would be close to, if not far exceeding 10000 years old. While they are maintained by the chapters that used them, especially since they can't be made anymore, they are still going to have to deal with wear and tear as much as any other tank. I'd really love to see you do a dreadnought in this style. Either a Contemptor or Leviathan Siege dread.

I noticed you use both enamel washes and oil paints. Why not use oils for both? Is there a benefit that enamels have compared to a thin oil wash?

Muh friend! I started to watch the channel to "steal" techniques from scale modellers to use with Warhammer (and stayed for awesome content) and this video has been a dream come true. If you ever do it again, please take a tank from 40k and give it a realistic overhaul with tarps and canisters etc... would love to see that!

Sorry to be that guy but , welds usually corrode sooner than the base material due to the composition changes in stainless steel and due to microstructure changes and residual stress in carbon steel.

The proportions are exaggerated, but the Leman Russ tank bears a lot of resemblance to the Char B1 (as you've previously modeled). Ditto the Rhino and the M113 or FV432 APCs

Absolutely stellar work! Lore wise considering the Sicarian Battle Tank is an Imperium design from the 30K/Great Crusade era and the chapter who owns it, its very likely this particular vehicle would be well over 10,000 years old in universe if its presented in the current 40K M42 era.

I do a lot of work with 2-part epoxy putty sculpting in my Warhammer and Battletech hobbies. Instead of bent soda can, go get an esthetician's tool. Not sure what they're called. It's a textured metal cylinder as thick as a pen and about twice the length of your thumb. It has stiff metal loops on each side, it's used to remove blackheads and pop zits. I also use the metal picks designed for digging crab meat out of the claws. Best modelling tools I've ever handled.

To be honest, I painted most of my W40K models with paints I use for WWII planes or tanks and it works perfectly fine =) You just have to throw an eye and find matching colors. Simple as that ^^. BTW, amazing work ! Your model is a masterpiece <3
