Idk 🤷‍♀️ I'm not really scared of heights. However, if I look out my window in a sea of clouds, it might kick up my anxiety a tad. How long would it take you to get to the very top apartment by elevator?? 😮

Great selection of visuals! There's one I've never seen, the century old cutout drawing of Opera interchange station. Great video, though there are a few mistakes here and there, about the cost and depth, among others. The tunnels will total roughly 180km in length (112 miles) and on average around a depth of 25-35 meters (82-115 feet) and down to 55 meters and more at some points (180ft), with some stations' structures going down to 70-75 meters underground (230-245 ft). The top commercial speed is 110km/h (68mph) and it's the *average" speed from beginning to end, including stops, that is 55km/h (34mph). Stations are spaced far enough from each other for the trains to often run at top speed. The giant circle line M15 will be the longest fully underground line in the world, with roughly 75 km / 47 mi. (And the longest subway section). The reduction in carbon emissions was first estimated at 14.2 million metric tons over the first 20 years of operations. Since then the carbon footprint of the construction has been halved by the use of very low carbon concrete (fiber concrete instead of the usual reinforced concrete) and low carbon steel. Plus, the expected ridership has recently been revised from 2 to more than 3 million daily riders on the new lines. And the number of cars removed from the roads is forecasted to be higher than initially expected. The Grand Paris Express may seem gigantic enough but it is only a part of the current mass transit boom in Paris. Currently, there are 360 kilometers (225 miles) of new transit lines set to open between now and 2030-2032. They mostly comprise the GPE but also RER extensions (regional express heavy metro), other metro extensions (of the historical lines), new tramway lines and extensions, a first multi-station cable-car / gondola (aka "telecabin") line extending the end of a metro line deep into the suburbs, and half a dozen proper busway bustram / BRT lines. There's also the CDG Express, a direct train between one of Paris major mainline train terminals and CDG airport (Paris main international one), set to open fully in early 2027. Also not counted in the tally: Add to that a new line 19 that was proposed by the transit authorities last week for the Northwestern quadrant of the suburbs, Rumors about a possible line 20 in the Southeastern quadrant, A decision to be taken soon about the large extension of GPE's line M18 from Versailles to Nanterre, Another decision to be taken soon about the system & fare integration of OrlyVAL airport connection line into an independent line and its potential extension on both ends. The transit capacity increase is humongous and continues to grow as the works progress. As of the end of summer 2023, the 100+ kilometer milestone of tunnels has been passed, meaning that now nearly 60% of the tunnel length is already dug and most of the elevated structures are built too. There is also a massive rolling stock renewal campaign ongoing. All lines whatever they are metro, RER, Transilien suburban train or tramway, will have new rolling stock, except if their current stock arrived during or after the late 90's. So all the somewhat historical trains of the metro will be gone in the coming years. Plus all 15k+ busses are being and will continue to be replaced by low carbon types (electric, hydrogen, biogaz). The 2 busiest historical lines, M1 and M4, have been converted to full driverless automation, joining M14 which was automated from day one. The new MP14 trains are now running on at least 3 of the 5 rubber tyred lines, and the last line running the venerable MP73 trains, line M6, is getting the 90's era MP89 trains transferred from line M4, following the conversation to full automation of M4. The all new RER NG trains have started appearing on RER line E and soon on line D, there was a massive main order for 280 trains of the type for these two lines. At last but not least, the schedule of openings will have something new every year. Starting in 2023 with tramway line T10 that opened this summer, T12 set to open in December. In spring 2024 : line M11's Eastern extension, M14's large Southern extension to Orly airport (Paris secondary one) and short Northern extension to Saint-Denis Pleyel, GPE's Northern hub, and the first phase of RER E Western extension, including 3 major interchange stations and 8km of deep tunnels under Paris dense core and newer business district. In 2025 : the South section of M15, the huge circle, about 35 kilometers long... And then every year a major section of M15, M16, M17 & M18 till 2030, or at worst 2032. It's just bonkers how huge the overall extension of the transit network is.

Ah and I forgot, the cost for one kilometer of subway given at the end isn't right. It may be the case in New York and in some English speaking countries for no justifiable reason. But in most other developed countries, a kilometer or mile of subway is far cheaper than this, sometimes 10 times cheaper than in New York, despite Manhattan having a density close to Paris proper and a much easier / suitable ground. Also, the French laws about tunnel safety are overly strict and require building emergency exit / access shafts from the tunnel to the surface no farther than 800 meters apart. For the GPE that's more than 120 or 130 shafts that are being built, each one like a mini station. Add to that the terribly inhospitable ground under Paris, filled with water and unstable ground due to the water table beginning right under the surface and the presence of brittle and flooded gypsum and sulfur layers, and a "Swiss cheese" layer of limestone pillaged for centuries to build the city. The limestone layer must of the time requiring yo be filled up and secured before being dug through. Digging and building under Paris is a nightmare and should cost substantially more than in most other locations. It does compared to other "reasonable nations". But it doesn't compared to New York, which has far more stable ground, and yet has outrageously higher digging / building costs. A kilometer of subway in most of Europe can cost around 200 million, sometimes lower, certainly not 1.3 billion... UK has crazy inflated costs too but less than NYC.

Dubai real-estate is red-hot which is most likely in a Bubble stage. Let's see what happens when tens of thousands of units start getting delivered every quarter over the next 2 years. Dubai RE market right now is same as US Equity market in late 2020. Dubai market has been very cyclical, contrary to what is said in this video. It not only peaked in 2008, but also again in 2014 and the same cycle repeating again, with a peak now or coming soon. Anyone investing in 2023/24 will surely keep holding the bag for a few years. People who invested in luxury villas in 2014, have seen their villas back to purchase prices early this year. So goodluck! The huge appreciation since COVID has been more because of Russians running away from their motherland in addition to people from India and China taking money out of their respective countries.

Crisis of 2008 and 2014 did not affect only Dubai. Had you been invested somewhere else, it would be same fate. There has been no Dubai-specific real estate crash. But there has been Dubai-specific boom, which is now as compared to rest of the world. So it is wise to invest in such a market rather than any other place. And when Indians invest, they hold. And so the prices will hold on, but will not crash.
