I don't know how true it is but these heavies are 436,000 pounds from what I heard. Again don't know if it's true

436320 pounds exactly.

@FreightTrainProductions thank you I thought it was an error. I'm guessing only BNSF has these extra heavy engines

@@RyanHatterer-Ryanns999 Most railroads have units at 432000 pounds, but yes, I think BNSF is the only with 436 so far.

@dcmkris2 күн бұрын
Great video. Vehicles are from 741st Brigade Engineering Battalion & 141st Brigade Support Battalion of the 41st Infantry Division Oregon Army National Guard heading to Joint Readiness Training Center - Training Rotation 24-08.5 @ Fort Johnson, LA with ran July-16-29th. Unit loaded up @ Portland, OR June-24-26.
@FreightTrainProductions2 күн бұрын
Thank you! Very interesting, I wonder why they ran with an OR symbol typically used for military out of Oroville, CA and not the standard PD for Portland. Thanks for the info!
@dcmkrisКүн бұрын
@@FreightTrainProductions Yeah I found that a bit interesting as well. The only thing I'm positive about with Military moves is to expect the unexpected.

I criticized UP’s new paint scheme (specifically for removing the wings) on their official facebook page, and they blocked me. 🤷♂️😂

Is BNSF really retiring their SD70MACs, even the ones that they rebuilt a few years back?
@FreightTrainProductions6 күн бұрын
They were all retired at one point, but lately BNSF has reactivated a bunch after allegedly canceling their order of new units. The rebuilt MACes are mostly still in service as well, though classified differently than the MACs, and likely will remain for a while longer.

While many of the other class 1 rr's are having older locomotives rebuilt BNSF is buying new. I wonder how their train crews are doing since that new policy came out a few years ago in the news?

Nice video. Not sure where the military train symbol came from but its not this move. The military equipment on this train was bound for Fort Knox, KY. Equipment was from 704th Brigade Support Battalion; 52nd Brigade Engineer Battalion; 1st Battalion 41st Infantry Regiment; 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team; 4th Infantry Division from Fort Carson, CO heading to Fort Knox, KY for Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Cadet Training. Somewhere between here and Missouri she lost the SD70AH. I think she was handed off to the Norfolk Southern in the Kansas City area on the 28th. With handover to the Paducah & Louisville on the 1st or 2nd.
@FreightTrainProductions7 күн бұрын
Symbol at time of catching was EPUFC, and after arriving into Denver it received the SFCYR symbol. Perhaps a PSR thing, where part of the train was bound for different places? Or maybe just mis-symboled - UP seems to do that relatively frequently compared to other railroads. Honestly not sure what that may have been about, though. Thanks for all the info, always appreciated!
@dcmkris18 күн бұрын
Nice compilation, by chance do you recall the date of the military drag? The military train was equipment from 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division from Fort Lewis, WA heading to The National Training Center @ Fort Irwin, CA for Decisive Action Training Rotation 24-07.

In my opinion, the CPKC merger should have suffered the same fate as the proposed SPSF merger of the mid-80s - blocked by the ICC. (Canadian railroads really have no business taking over American railroads. Just look at Canadian National - they run all the way down to New Orleans because they gobbled up the Illinois Central in 1998-99.) As for the CPKC paint scheme... they should've used the KCS Southern Belle paint scheme with the CP beaver logo replacing the KCS octagon logo. I am certainly not a fan of a paint scheme that emphasizes CP and relegates KCS to just some gold and black on the rear of the unit.

Ok, not up on UP paint schemes. I’d have to see a side-by-side to decipher the nuanced color changes! Seems like they’ve used the same basic colors for 50yrs! My bad (to y’all diehard UP fans out there!). But, I did live in Omaha from ‘87-‘89 n always appreciated those 2 massive locos bracketing ea side of highway leading to the municipal airport. Oh, n the small RR yard, too near the same!😊My RRs were the failed TMR, its failed replacement the Soo Line, its failed replacement the Wisconsin Central awa C&NW! My fan fav is the DM&IR RR of taconite hauling fame!😊
