Released in early 1963, this was the last record to be released by the original Skyliners until their re-grouping for 1970 oldies shows. Featuring original lead Jimmy Beaumont along with Janet Vogel, Wally Lester, Jackie Taylor and Johnny Jack replacing Joe Verscharen it extended the Skyliners' beautiful Rock/Beaumont catalog of original music.

Late 1959 Hit, We lived on 62nd st NE Washington DC; I had just finished 6th grade at Shadd Elementary School. We were singing " Way Over There", and doing "The Birdland" dance at Watts Branch playground! My heroes were Lloyd "Blue" Dimps, David "Duke" Bing , Reggie Taylor, and "Tapole" Winters who were the greatest "Watts Branch" ballers in my young life and world, thank you!

Good basically imitating Arlene Smith. Imitating is not singing from the soul & heart.

Hard to believe Nicky didn’t have a music career past the age of 29. He would’ve been a perfect fit for the Drifters cause Rudy Lewis died that year. He knew Charlie Thomas cause Charlie had been in the Crowns prior to them becoming the Drifters. His little brother James’ career ended even earlier in 1958 when James was 22, due to a drinking problem, he didn’t become a drifter with Ben E. King, Charlie, Dock Green, and Beary Hobbs.
