Amazing Grace was written by an Englishman, the bagpipes originated in Persia and this was filmed in the USA.

I can remember 9/11 like it happened yesterday, heard a piper playing Amazing Grace and it brought out my love for my country & my willingness to fight, possibly die, to protect it. Still would, even as a senior. Great song! ❤️

First time I heard this it was in a 3rd season episode of Stargate Atlantis. It was performed the traditional way in honour of the series’ main (Scottish) character of Dr. Carson Beckett who was tragically killed in this episode. (The character himself was portrayed by Scottish-Canadian actor Paul McGillion). Very powerful scene mostly because of the this very powerful and moving piece. It took me a while to find out the title of the piece and I am glad the search brought me here, listening to it once more., even if, once again, it made a grown man cry.

As far as I am aware the bagpipe was first used in ancient Egypt. It was also first used in England before appearing in Scotland. That will really annoy Salmond, Sturgeon and the Nationalist lunatics 😂😂😂😂

You're right. Also Amazing Grace was written by John Newton who was English.
