@moto4342 ай бұрын
I bought this bike from a Craigslist add. It was a private person selling the bike. I don’t think there is a Tern dealer in CT. You have to go to NYC OR Providence RI to find a Tern dealer. But you can order a bike online from a dealer.

Excellent idling technique! You're better on 24" than I am on my 20" unicycle. I've been trying to improve my idling by trying to idle on my bigger unicycles or combining idling on a small unicycle with juggling. But the amount of physical effort forced me to reduce my sessions. On the 20" uni the effort is more psychological than physical, but my progress is stuck. Good video!

Nice ride! Is this a new unicycle? Or did you change the cranks on your Nimbus 29er MUni? What is the size of those KH cranks? I haven't noticed these cranks in your previous videos. Or maybe you've just changed the video recorder or the settings of your camera, because there are more details in this video (at the price of losing some of the video stabilization). It must feel great to ride in these places, especially when the weather seems to improve a little.
@moto4343 ай бұрын
I have this same unicycle for four years now. The cranks are 165mm, but I added new tapped holes at 130mm. I like the 130mm holes position better than the 165mm. I speed up the video to 1-1/2 times to keep the video short. I think people tend to get bored if it’s a long video. That day I recorded the video it was super windy. It was a little challenging holding the selfie stick and mounting on the 29er unicycle. At one point the wind blew my phone over when I had it on the tripod. Lucky for me the screen didn’t break. Thanks for your comment. Enjoy the warmer weather that’s coming soon. Keep on unicycling. 👍😎

Good video! Because of you, I've already started to look for a recumbent bike. :) Should I buy one? It looks very addictive.
@moto4344 ай бұрын
They are fun to ride. I believe riding a recumbent bicycle will strengthen your legs. This will help you when you ride your unicycle. The only drawbacks that I have noticed are , when coming to a stop at junctions try to be in a low gear so when you start to pedal it will be easier to get going. Also not good for climbing over big bumps like a curb. Around here I can find them used on Facebook marketplace. Prices range from $300-$900. Good luck with your search for a recumbent bike. 👍😊

I have a new tern a7 link. The stock tire are 1.75 wide, how wide are your new ones? I need to do something, the vibration kills me.
@moto4344 ай бұрын
I put on a set of Schwalbe balloon tires. They are 2” wide. They will give you a much smoother ride on rough surfaces. I had to add a small bracket to the fender supports to lift up the fender for clearance on the 2” tires. Check out my video on my channel.

Good idling and turning practice, but it's always better (safer, actually) with knee pads, especially when riding a bigger unicycle. ;) I thought I've been experiencing a deja vu when rewatching one of those moments when other people suddenly become very interested in unicycling or was it an error during editing the video? :)

Good video! I like this route. As a recumbent rider, your perception of the outdoor environment and connection to nature must be interesting and stronger, respectively.
@bogdandebuzau5 ай бұрын
I like this bike very much. Have you tried riding it a longer distance? Does it still feel comfortable? I've never tested a recumbent "bicycle" with less than... 3 wheels (only a recumbent trike and a recumbent quadricycle which were neither comfortable, nor stable). Recumbent bikes are not popular at all in my area and are very hard to find. Probably I will order one just for trying it. There are more chances to see a person riding a unicycle than a recumbent bicycle.
@moto4345 ай бұрын
I just bought this bike used last week. I had to clean the chain really good. I also had to buy a new idler pulley that was missing. I also bought a new seat cushion. I adjusted and lubricated all the cables. So this was my first ride. Will be trying to go on a longer ride tomorrow. These recumbent bikes are harder to do tight turns like in confined spaces. But they are comfortable to ride because there is no pressure on your arms and hands like a conventional bicycle. Also going up steep hills is a bit more challenging because you can only use your legs. Maybe this bike will help make my leg muscles stronger to help with unicycling. They are expensive if you buy them new. They start around $2600 here in the US. They are not common to see around in my area.

I have four different bikes. The Tern Link is my favorite bike to ride because the compact design makes it ideal for transport inside the car. I also like the simplicity of the single top bar frame design. The 2.0” balloon tires make it even better to ride. When riding on rough surfaces you will have a more enjoyable ride. I also like that the bike stands a little taller now. Thanks for your comment.

Yes, I have a bike computer on my bike that does all those things. Happy Holidays and Happy new year.
@bogdandebuzau6 ай бұрын
@moto434 I'm sorry. I've missed the most important reason for "tracking your activities": tracking your rides as in mapping, planning routes etc. with apps like: Strava, Relive, Komoot, Wikiloc, MapMyRide etc. installed on your phone and running in background or a GPS watch (Garmin Fenix, for example which should be now on Christmas sale) that can automatically send your last recorded activity to all these apps (without affecting the battery life of your phone) or which allows you to export the .gpx file. Happy Holidays! And A Happy New Year to you, too!

Nice places! The upright riding position should be pretty comfortable on your back while giving you a wider perspective for observing your surroundings. My bikes have lower handlebars and make switching from unicycling to cycling (on two wheels) pretty unpleasant. Of course, the vertical position of the body doesn't help when riding uphill or against wind or when pedaling harder, but it makes general riding more enjoyable (at least when not having to deal with too many cracks in asphalt pavements). By the way, how do you deal with those cracks? Did you consider trying a saddle cover designed for better shock absorbtion and wearing anti-vibration gloves compatible with cycling?
@moto4346 ай бұрын
This bike is pretty comfortable for me. I do like the upright riding position. For dealing with the bumps I lower my tire pressure to around 1.8 Bars. Now the weather here is starting to get colder. Not to comfortable for outside cycling. Hopefully we get a few warmer days soon. Thanks for your comment. 👍

This was a long ride for a bike with 508mm wheels. I like this bike because of how compact it is and it folds up nicely. The small wheel size makes it easier to pedal up to the hills. The other thing I like is the weight, not very heavy. Thanks for your coment.🙂
@moto4346 ай бұрын
This bike has small 20” (508mm) diameter wheels. That makes it difficult to ride on technical trails. Does okay just on good walking trails, not too rough. PS. I like watching your Unicycle videos.
